DOJ: "The victim claims process will begin shortly."

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has now hired a Claims Administrator, Garden City Group, and claims that U.S. players soon will be able to make claims. According to one news site, about 1.3 million players are still waiting for their money since Black Friday (April 15, 2011) and the amount owed is about $159,000,000. It's the middle of March and they have just got around to hiring a claims administrator??? Why the fook has it took them so long to sort that out? Do they not think the poor Americans haven't waited long enough as it is to get their money back?
Least it's finally getting sorted now tho. Lets hope the online gambling law gets sorted out in time for them getting their money back Big Smile

"...PokerStars purchased Full Tilt Poker for more than $730 million..."

MY first thought upon reading this was,....you'd think if PokerStars has $730 million to toss around,....they could toss a few K to some IT nerd to modify their program to sift out duplicate accounts,....

Hopefully, the government used the time to set up a process that is well run and the players can get processed quickly.

Of course that's not what I'm actually expecting to happen only what I'm hoping will happen .

While further details of the repayment process are yet to be finalised, a dedicated website has been created to streamline the process.
All US players with outstanding bankrolls are being encouraged to visit FullTiltPokerClaims.com and join the mailing list to keep up-to-date with the latest developments.

I don't know if it's reasonable to have a departament just for claims from players. But they must know what they're doing, perhaps it can work as an independent sector while there's a lot of work and then be integrate with other in the future, when things calm down.

I was watching a tourney on TV not long ago in which Howard Lederer was entered. Just about everyone there was shunning him,...and the guys sitting at the table with him weren't really talking much to him other than just shallow hand related stuff...

There was a chill in the air it seemed... I think it was a tourney in Asia if my memory serves me correctly!
