BRM is NOT a staking site !  +2
G'day Mobster's

People for the love of God BRM is NOT a staking site.
Do people even bother to read the term and conditions of membership at all?
I believe rule #10 states rather clearly we are NOT to beg for, or ask for money.
I have been quite on this issue for a long time but the last few days have just pissed me off.
Retribution used to jump all over people for this crap until he asked for his own stake and now it seems it is happening damn near every day now that someone id begging for some money.
Yes people asking for a stake is damn well begging for cash.
Let us call a spade a spade. Players who general are asking for money to play poker with are not able to play profitably with their own bankrolls or they would NOT need to ask for a stake.
There are rare exceptions to this rule. It just pisses me off when none regular forum users show up out of nowhere and ask to be given a stake or for a loan, at least when it is a regular BRM forum member and frequent poster I consider helping out, But that is because they have some credibility as forum members and usually have some form of plan on how to use the stake.
So am I the only one who is getting tired of this begging crap?
If I am then I will apologize to all the BRM members right now. I would bet my entire bankroll however that I am NOT alone on the issue.
Be cool mates. Best of luck at the tables.

Hopefully I did not come on like too big an A$$hole. I just can not stay quite any longer.
The constant begging has gotten way out of hand in my opinion.
People are asking to be staked in there first post now. It is just sickening me.

be cool

I think the best thing to do, and it took me a LONG time to realise it, is just to ignore them. If no-one replies, their thread will be on the bottom of the forum really quickly. Every time someone posts, it bumps them up and is doing them a favor.

On the topic of my BAP, sure it was basically a stake, but I DO have my own money to play with. I had already done a shorter run through, and turned a profit, plus they are all in a format I've played tonnes of volume in and studied. The reason I decided to give the BAP a go, is because I really felt I had a +eV situation that I wanted to exploit. I figured I'd do it on here because:

A) It'd be a community thing, and perhaps get some people interested in super turbos.
B) Of course these have massive variance. Higher variance means bigger swings. I guess this is the roundabout way of saying I didn't take all the risk if it became a trainwreck.

I guess part of this recent surge of b eggers is partly my fault, because it's monkey see, monkey do right?

But it'd take a retarded monkey not to see that there's a huge difference between some 1-post nobody with no plan begging, and a forum regular like say jess of jovi laying out a solid plan and asking.

Personally,...it doesn't 'piss' me off,.... I couldn't care less... I have more dignity that to ask for a loan to gamble with...

'A$$hole'..... What,....are you telling us that you are literally loaded with cash up your A$$,....

If I asked for a steak,....er, stake,....would you poop out last night's dinner...? Big Smile

Hey,...if someone needed a few cents because they were short a few for a game,...no problem,....ask for multiple dollars,..... Sorry,...no such luck from me... You need to get your gambling addiction remedied....

Damn Ronin your usually the mild mannered "Clafk Kent" lol. I do as stated, ignore unless it's soemone who's been on or in the forum for a while. I guess there's several things that tick me off about some of the postd by members that haven't been here long or some that joined 3 or 4 years ago then dicide to post something such as a request or favor.

I hope all the regular Mobsters know by now that I would more then likely help them if possible and that my comments are not toward any of the Mobsters. I also want new members to know they are welcomed and appreciated, but be curtious.

Oh man you just ruined everything Ronin.

I was about to ask for a stake for $20,000 that I can turn into $343,767,656 in a week and would give back half. Deposited into a nigerian bank account of course.

Note: On a serious note, totally agree with you!

i personally don't bother with that. i mean what's the problem with someone posting a thread- you like it, you comment on it/ join discussion. you don't like it- skip it.
i do understand your opinion though & i respect the fact that you want the best for the forum, so Thumbs Up for good wishes.

i understand how you feel, im not going to lambast anyone for asking to be staked as some famous poker players have been staked. its a part of poker, but recently there has been a surge in people asking to be staked who only have 1 - 10 posts, people like that are the type of people who are on to gain a stake then go to another site and asked to be staked.etc.

in my opinion if you have your own cash why do you need to be staked??

Retribution in my opinion no matter how you dress it up you are like the rest of the people who ask to be staked,
main reason people ask to be staked is due to going bust, or wanting to try out a new game without risking their own cash and minimise the risk of going broke.

playing on other peoples money keeps the staked player free from worry during tournaments. When facing a big bet with a strong suspicion that an opponent is bluffing you are more inclined to call whereas you wouldnt if it was your own cash.

maybe instead of asking to be staked, stakers should ask to stake someone, you will get lots of posts from people wanting to be staked but then its your own judgement on who to select

Big Smile

as for the beggars who are only on trying to rob our members cash they should just leave.lol

but good luck to everyone and if you are being staked then goodluck to you as well. Thumbs Up

I don't really post on the forums although have been a member for a while and enjoy reading peoples tips and tales and hopefully find ways to improve my game. Big Smile

Just had to have my 2 cents though as i would agree with a lot that's been said here.

Bankrolling is a stress relief and can allow you to play a better game without the fear of going bust (or the exact opposite and you become reckless as its not your cash!) but Grahamy has a great point, in that, if someone wants to offer a bankroll that you can "apply" for its far, far better than begging.

After all its not like you have the accessories for it on a forum - the dog and guitar Tongue that you do on the street Big Smile

G'day mate

What is your PStars id mate? I will ship you $5 so you can get them 9 VPP/Fpp's
I am 38 points away from my next bonus but have been where you are and remember how much it sucked when no one would spot me $5 to clear my bonus.
Will not leave a fellow regular poster in that spot since I can help you, the offer is there mate.

Notice beggers he NEVER actually asked for nothing, but it is being offered with no strings.
No stake or loan being offered here just a small gift to help get a mobster over a hump.

be cool mates and best of luck

It's not that often it happens. Just these two threads the past day or so and then I think there was another one a week or so ago. It's probably just that time of month...

G'day Tony

I apologize to you sir if my raging rant has in any way offended you.
I admit at the time I posted it I had lost it totally.
Never a good idea for me too post messages when I am on message tilt.
Thank you for everything you do for us here in this community and all the best to you.

RONIN.... you should never apologise to someone who simply doesnt agree with what you say...unless you meant to offend and then decidied that was a bad idea cos it was just wriong to do it in the first place.

As for beggars...... (or people asking for a stake as they surreptitiously like to call themselves in here ).. they should get off their lazy fat arses and get themselves a job, or be more cautious with how they spend their own money, rather than asking others for theirs.

If poker players have no money.....they should enter a freeroll or two and build back up...... this crap about playing more free and with less stress of losing your own money hel;ps you play better comes right from where the sun dont shine. Of course they dont give a toss...its someone elses money!

If anyone thought Ronin was having a rant....heres another one.

Retributions advice is good. Ignore the lazy scutters and their post will drop off the screen in less than a day!

you have some good points, when i find myself down i cash in freerols and build a bankroll again, some people who dont have the patience like to take the easy option and ask for money, but like i said alot of famous players are staked, one notable person is Stu Ungar who when down on his luck got staked and won and blew it again etc.

Retributions can't make them sort of comments when he himself asked to be staked! (just find it unfair to tell people to ignore people asking when said person makes a thread asking people to stake him!?)

like i have said before if a regular asks then goodluck, but as we have seen lately even regs can run off and gamble,

but goodluck to all Thumbs Up

I have given a Thumbs Up for the gesture , Ronin

I have to admit I was not used to your language in your opening thread, but it s true, people who are asking for money when they have less than 10 posts.... it s sickening.

I just play poker for amusement with a relative small bankroll. In the long run I play profitable or break even which is OK for me. Maybe I win a big fish one day ....

I am just wondering ... who has no 5 or 10 $ to deposit ?? .... play freerolls or use NDB...

I personnally have enough finance (as I have a good job) and could easily deposit more ... but I just enjoy the game poker and making money is not my main interest...

The rule is : if you can win a lot of money, you can also loose a lot of money.

But helping a regular BRM poster is OK for me... nice to have you on the forum Ronin
