G'day mate
What is your PStars id mate? I will ship you $5 so you can get them 9 VPP/Fpp's I am 38 points away from my next bonus but have been where you are and remember how much it sucked when no one would spot me $5 to clear my bonus. Will not leave a fellow regular poster in that spot since I can help you, the offer is there mate.
Notice beggers he NEVER actually asked for nothing, but it is being offered with no strings. No stake or loan being offered here just a small gift to help get a mobster over a hump.
be cool mates and best of luck

Well its not a staking site but when you see successful stake offers in here, that, automatically gives the right to everyone to ask for it, either its in the rules or not. Doesnt it?

For clearing your bonus, you could try a SNG 1-table DoN (and play themm very tight)
Just aim for the top 5 and let the other do as much work as possible (play eachother out)

Well I have had some success building up a bankroll playing the Fifty50 sitngo's. 5 players get paid. I find that by playing very tight but aggressive when I have the cards I cash well. Do NOT bluff and let the others do as much of the work as possible. You are not there to be the table sherriff, you are there to just finish in the money. You will earn Vpp's this way. The cheapest ones are only $1.50 US if memory serves. Do the $0.25 games 45/90 Sitngo's actually earn fpp/VPP's?

Yeah you're right.... but I guess in order to receive a stake there must be some kind of trust involved, after my stake adventure with teddy , brm has been flooded by 1 post guys asking for stakes .

Wow mate you did not have to return the $5 back to me. It was meant as a no string attached gift. Still I do appreciate the gesture. Best of luck to you. Ronin

No offense, but this thread illustrates WHY most people shouldn't be staked. You get the $$, and after playing ONE game within the proper BRM, you immediately jump into higher and higher BI games. If you're going to play on someone elses money, you can't disregard BRM, as you are pretty much guaranteeing you will fail. Sure you got lucky and binked a few, kudos to you, but your luck will run out and if you keep playing that way, you'll be back here in a day or 2, just "1 or 2 points short". Do yourself a favor, stick to the lower BI games so you at least have a chance of succeeding.
At least you were cool enough to send him back his $5. That shows good character. Again, I mean no offense, I'm just pointing out the obvious here.
Posted by grahamy27: in my opinion if you have your own cash why do you need to be staked??
For a few reasons:
A) Reduces variance. Even pros sell pieces of their action in big buyin tournaments. Heck I bet almost every single pro like hellmuth or negraneau sell action in their wsop runs.
B) To defray risks. Yes, poker has variance. Yes there is ALWAYS a chance you can take a huge hit due to downswings. By running a stake, you lower the risk of your own roll, while including other people in the profits. Sure there's a risk you can lose them money, but ANY investment is like that.
Posted by grahamy27: Retribution in my opinion no matter how you dress it up you are like the rest of the people who ask to be staked, main reason people ask to be staked is due to going bust, or wanting to try out a new game without risking their own cash and minimise the risk of going broke.
Okay seriously, I am insulted you'd lump me in with those other trolls. I took the time to lay out a plan in full detail. I took the time to put together a spreadsheet so people could track the progress. I built credibility here, by posting advice, and discussing various things here for a long time. I also have a proven win-rate over a sample size of THOUSANDS of games.
As I've said several times, I'm in no way broke. I could EASILY have afforded to take the risk on my own. I had more than a sufficient roll to play on, but as I said the format I played in has a LOT of variance (As you can see if you read my thread) and I just didn't want to take all of the risk on my own. If my BAP hadn't gotten off the ground, I would have ended up taking the run on my own, but again I figured if I can get others involved, why not? It ended up being fun for everyone, and although we didn't end up raking in the cash, at least it wasn't a total bust.
So there's a HUGE difference between myself, or any other proven winning reg here starting a stake, and some idiot with >10 posts begging.
Posted by grahamy27: playing on other peoples money keeps the staked player free from worry during tournaments. When facing a big bet with a strong suspicion that an opponent is bluffing you are more inclined to call whereas you wouldnt if it was your own cash.
Well any solid, winning player would never let the money at stake impact their decision. If you're playing with scared money, you might as well just give it away because you'll never win with that mindset.
Posted by grahamy27 maybe instead of asking to be staked, stakers should ask to stake someone, you will get lots of posts from people wanting to be staked but then its your own judgement on who to select
Yeah, a few people have done that here. The problem is, it's the same end result. You'll see the thread flooded with morons with low post counts begging.

Hi , I have to say your rant dose not offend me as I was not even staked Ronin by simply gifted me 5 to clear my bonus and I felt I did not have to follow BRM Rules ok so there, on the flip side I most def woulda followed BRM rules and such IF I was on a stake, I know your not referring to me , but I almost feel that way to be honest any ways , Cheers
------------ HI guys, I have cleard my bonus, I am running super good not following any BRM rules play HU hypers , and now have 28

I am glad you cleared your bonus my next bonus clears in just 35 points. Could easily clear it of tonight with one good session but for some reason today I just have not felt like playing much poker. Think I might need to take a few days off and recharge my battery's. Be cool and best of luck mate Do yourself a favor and think about using some proper bankroll management

Mighty fine of you to help buddy out,.... He did well snowballing that into a small avalanche of cash and points....
It is true though that by increasing the successive buy in as you win WILL eventually come back to bite you in the a$$,....at one point you will lose,....and lose it ALL in one shot.
It's like Sysyphus rolling that boulder up the hill,....you know it's gonna roll back down and crush you and your efforts....
