apart from freerolls, what do you suggest is the best way to increase your bank roll from small stakes - 5/10$ tournaments, cash games, sngs?
realistically how many times can you expect to get well paid in a tournament taking into account the variance of the cards when you get beaten by the lesser card - ak beaten by 88 for example

Im afraid you will have to find this for yourself. This is clearly a personal thing. Each player can be profitable in a different game. Give a try in all in low limits to find what suits you the best. And if you just start its good to play with bankroll management.

Good day the best way is to check out yourself in what type of a game you fit into and grind the certain game .... thats the best way to build out a bankroll and one big thing to keep in mind is the bankroll management.. !! sng's are more preferable here or tournaments .. but its a an individual decision .

For me is the fast forward poker, but I also play freeroll tournaments and other small stake tournaments. It depends. As Mober said earlier, you should play more games with smaller stakes and see what what you play and play well. You could very good at more that tournaments or cash games! Good luck!

What do you think about 1,50$ fifty50 SNG for 10 players on PS where 1-5 takes 1.35$ + 0,04cents for every 100 chips left in your stack?? I think its great cause 50% can get at least buyin back but if you will finish with bigger stack like 7000 you can win 4 dollars in 1table SNG, thats not bad I guess

Ya,....like mentioned above,....just gotta try out various types of games and tourneys and see what works for you....
Personally,....I've just been KILLING it on these $100K Priviledge Freerolls I've been playing in 3 times a day since I reached ChromeStar status on PokerStars...
...whereas,.....when it comes to playing BankrollMob Bingo tourneys and battling all those CHEATING COCKROACHES,......I'm ready to check myself in for a psychological evaluation at the local nuthouse....

As for BR building, low varience games such as 1 table SNG's and NON TURBO would be a good start.

the best way to increase your bankroll is by winning, note i didn't say what you should be winning- sng's, mtt's or cash games. the key word here is winning. you can also take the easier path- create a trustworthy person's image on this forum- when you do so: ask to be staked & just disappear from the horizon when u receive money, leaving everyone in tears...repeat same process on other forums & you have yourself a nice bankroll

hi, for me it goes like this:
- Clearing 1st Deposit/Reload Bankrolls - Freerolls - Double or Nothing SnGs (not the 50/50 on Pokerstars, IMO they can't guarantee a good winning percentage- try a smaller site with low rake) - Playing in rooms/games with lots of newbies/fishes - Satellite your seat for big Tourneys if you're into MTTs. This way if you get in the money even just after the bubble, you'll get added money value in your bankroll (not just doubling your buy-in) - I'd go for TURBO HU/SnGs because you can play more games in the same amount of time with less rake (since our goal is to maximize the bankroll) - A good RAKEBACK deal if possible - Get staked
and
- Most important of all, find the games where you have EDGE over your opponents in a specific buy-in & Poker room, and try to play as many similar games as you can. Of course examine your results in detail to find what these games are for you, and don't stay on games that show little/no profit after a period of time. DON'T expect to get profit each & every day, but separate your games into batches of 20 or 50 games and see the whole profit & winning percentage in there.
if all this fails, go for the stake-and-run-i'm-outta-here-suckers option

Imo u should focus on freerolls till u reach at least $10 if u only have $5 to start. From then if u want to do like i did u can start with micro stakes ring game. enter with at least 80 BB and exit ALWAYS if you have 120+ and go to another table to start again. also exit if u drop under 30 ... no reason to lose there ur last cents coz u rarely will scare someone of a pot and it's down to a win or lose flip.
I started the year with absolute zero, and with that tactic ( including 2 or three times i went berserk and almost went broke again) i managed a current $120 roll... I'm quite happy with it. I'm not rich but i can play whenever i want and dont have to ask for a stake here like im the next isildur1 or something and was just unlucky in the last 1.000.000.000.000 hands.

------ As for the OP's question. To build a bankroll, you'll have to be quite a bit better than your opponents (or very lucky). If you're not, it's probably better to stick to freerolls a while, and study the game (read some books/articles). All money you lose while learning the game, will make it hard to become an overall winning player (you'd have to recoup your losses first).
When you've become good enough to be a break even player, make sure you get a good deposit bonus, this will then pull you into profitability.

Easiest is SNG double or nothing,than cash and the last one is the tournament(big reward when you won it,also so frustating when you end up bubble).Learn the theory and The Lady Luck be with you.

STEFFI.... patience, perseverence, improvement and a whole load of courage and luck will be the only way to increase your bankroll........ and over and above this is Good Bank Roll Management. Work out a style that is successful, assess your opponents strengths and weaknesses and exploit them....not getting exploited yourself (remember while you are assessing everyone else, that they are assessing you), so vary your play to stay one step ahead. Lose some to win some, but stay within your loss or BRM limit.
