What's Your Thoughts on K,10  0
Decided to post something relatively basic, but curious as to how often you play your K,10 preflop (not suited)?

Also, how strong of a starting hand do you feel it is?

I ask due to folding this hand quite often and feeling good I did.

Not a hand I like to play, too easily dominated.

I will pull my pokertracker stats up later and see how i actually fare with it

The only time i play this hand is if I'm on the button in an unopened pot but then i raise with all kinds of junk in that spot in a tourney when the ante's kick in Big Smile
I hardly ever play it in a cash game. Maybe call a 2 or 3x raise with it when its blind on blind.

It's not a strong hand especially if it's as you say not suited...

I think it only makes sense to play it if everyone folded before you and you are in a late position.

Ice, that would be an interesting statistic if you could post it up Blink

G'day mate

I used to play with King 10 alot.
Stop after a 1 month free trial period with poker tracker3 way back when.
Was shocked to discover that in just one month I had played the hand over 400 times.
Yes I play allot of poker games Smile
However the important stat was that I LOST with king 10 over 80% of the time.
Does not matter what anyone try's to tell me about King 10 them are bad odds.
Math does not lie. the King 10 loses me money in the long run better to just fold them.

There the trash heap has spoken Smile

be cool mates and best of luck.

Yeah, k10 is one of the weaker starting hands. I generally fold it UTG/EP/MP and will only play it in LP/CO/BTN. Typically it's the sort of hand that's good for either stealing the blinds with, or playing in small multi-way pots due to it being a decent draw hand. It can also be a dangerous hand, because there's too many ways you can hit top pair type scenarios, but still be behind.

at fullring I play it almost never.. its that kind of hand which looks pretty interesting for new players, but it can cost you more chips how it can make for you I guess... I dont like to play even KJo.

Also I HATE when I am on BB with hand like K3, there are few limpers and flop is like K, 10, 4.. cause I am always afraid of losing with same pair, just worse kicker Smile

I pretty much don't play K10 unless I'm short stack and I'm shoving with it.. I'm rarely putting in a raise with K10 though, unless it's a LP blind steal when my stacks just a bit too large to open-shove.

Just kind of curious since I do see a lot of players that seem to think this is a pretty good hand. It just seems to to desperate to chance a straight or even trying to get a set orbmake a pair. About the only time I'll play a K,10 is if it's suited and if I'm in position or know what I'm up against.

When I first started playing I used to get kicked playing K,10 or K,9 so I was just wanting some others opiniions. Thanks and Good Luck All!

To me, it depends on how big the blinds or bets have gotten. Early in the game,...I'll always play them no matter where the button is... You never know what's coming on the flop.

Later on when the blinds get bigger,...or someone lays a huge bet.... I'll likely fold them.... Smile

Indead K10 is mostly a fold for me...

The only way I am playing it is :

on the button, try to steal blinds (unopend pot)
on the SB when I only have to call (cheap entry into the hand)
on the BB when I only have to check or make a small call in a multiple pot

I play lot of speed poker and there it is often profitable to raise on the button or SB with such cards to steal the blinds.

A lot of players there fold on the BB when you raise 1 BB.

I almost call a 1 BB raise on the BB almost with any cards , as I only have to pay 1 BB in a 4.5 BB pot. So that s actually cheap

I usually always play them. I like that hand, not as much as i like K9 (call me crazy but i just do), althoguh it's a scary one. You have to be aware that it's not that strong, as you will be behind in many ocacions. Having QJ on the flop is nice to see but makes you feel the pressure of a possible AK or even having a AQ or KQ that are above you. So, with K10, one's got to know how to make pressure on the opponents, makiing them believe we have better hand than them. The amont to bet post flop will be the most important move. Be aware not to compromise all the game in case someone doesn't believe your bluff and turn doesn't help you in any way.
