My vote goes to early registration, many maniac donks going all in every single hand like in a cheap rebuy tourney. This one hand tables make a lot of damage to the quality of poker played on line.
Good luck

I see it was an interesting question, with a lot of good, serious answers.
Thank you all for your input. It is all much appreciated !!

I am still unsure if it is resolved though.

I am leaning towards it nearly always being better to register early.

Is their any mathematics to back up this theory, such as EV x BI or something?

Your Majesty, the maths is fairly simple. Your leaning is certainly best practice, as per one of the above post's, if you have donks pushing so much because it is "only a few dollar"s, get in early, play tight and take their chips, as I stated before good players do not NEED these early chips but they never go amiss. Discipline and patience is key here, as in any poker game, try to remove the threat of multiple re-buys by picking your hands well and throwing those 50/50 hands while the donks are still so active, if you have already chipped up more than double starting (or minimum 150% average) and there are more than 3 people (2 donks and 1 player?) in the hand and you have a 66% hand or above the value may be there for you to push/call as the return will be above the investment IE positive return for the one hand only, there will always be the chance (of course) that even the magic 72% hand (AA) gets busted, that is poker tho, so be prepared to take that on the chin and start re-building your stack.

Your humble servant.

Well I think retribution wrote it very well all. I also prefer to start playing right from the beginning. Main reason is that if you will start later blinds will be bigger so you will start with less BBs. Second reason is that you are just missing hands, that means that you are missing chance to win and improve your stack..

Yea you can think like, that you avoid to be donked, but I think Its completely bad thinking. It only can says about you that you dont feel enough confident at tables and you are affraid about your play and affraid to lose... that can influence your play in bad way I guess.

There are benefits of each. Entering late means you will have fewer all-in Donks and Bongo Queens to face. Sometimes in the early stages of a tournament almost every hand is a multi way all-in. For the most part the real players will be just folding until they get a premium hand which may or may not happen. in those situations, it's definitely worth considering registering late as the some but not all the bingo queens will have been eliminated so it's possible to make up for being behind at the start.

when tournaments have less wild starts it's probably more beneficial to register on time and play from the first hand.
