PKR going live  0
PKR Live gets underway this weekend with its low stakes festival.
Taking place inside Aspers Casino, London, the three day festival features $500 Main Event as well as a selection of side events, Sit & Go tournaments and cash games.
PKR's full gamut of pros will be on display, including Sofia Lovgren and Scott Shelley, as well as a host of online qualifiers.
There's still two days left to enter and registration for the Main Event is only available online via PKR's lobby.

It would be nice if, while shooting this event for prosperity, or even for campaign, they would show the player avatar next to his picture, so people could see if he made it on his image or not. That should be what most players do, so it must be funny to watch so many different people as they see themselves if they were avatars. Mine is a bit looked like me by the way Big Smile

Interesting. I did not know PKR pokerroom has their own live event. I always love to play live events.
I realize this one is almost over yet, but I will surely take a look next time in their client to see if they have any live event qualifiers so I can play those next time.

If I lived in England, or even Europe, I'd have a crack at this for sure.. Got a few 'mates' on PKR, from the MTT circuit there, that are going over and I'd love to have a drink and crush them at the live tables.. alas - return tickets from Aus would be like $3K or something ridiculous.. even if I won a package - including $$ over the cost of the Main Event, I'd still be out of pocket thousands Sad Sucks balls sometimes being in upside down land..

Anyone local to the area, I advise strongly to attend: PKR has a fantastic community like no other room online.. Apart from my VIP rewards, the other main factor that keeps me loyal to PKR is the fantastic community there.. so many friendly people, it is pretty much the online online poker site where there is a heaps of table banter and you can actually make real friends there..

Anyway - GL to anyone who goes!

Just out of curiosity what are the lowest stakes on cash games that they offer for this event?

I'd LOVE to enter in a live tournament event. That would be rather exciting I figure... Would be a real change from playing online all the time...

The only thing I would like about THAT though,...is,... If you watch folks,...you will notice that MOST of them while at the tables, will stick their fingers in their nose, ears, eyes,....scratch their ass,...etc..

...THEN,...HANDLE the cards!!!!

YUK!!!

Most people don't really care about this kind of thing.. Sounds like maybe you're a bit neurotic.

EDIT: I realized after the fact that I meant to use the word 'NOT' in that original sentence... Big Smile

G'day mates

Well I think it is only natural that more online sites are trying to follow in the success of the extremely profitable business model which PStars has used with such incredible profits.
It is good for poker in general to see more established sites going to live venues.
Best of luck to all UK mobsters who might be taking part in the event.

You may prefer that term, but it's more of a misconception and no really accurate.. since exposure to germs and bacteria is generally healthy and builds a resistance to potentially harmful germs.. Excessive cleaning and concern for 'hygiene' isn't healthy and is mostly just indicative of a neurotic condition (OCD, etc).

Like I say, most people just don't think about stuff like this.. It's not a healthy or a normal thought process. You could apply the same thing to any public spaces / surfaces.

G'day Jess

You are absolutely correct amigo.
People need to be exposed to germs in order to build a strong and healthy immune system.
People in general never give such things a seconds thought.
I once obsessed about washing my hands and was doing so almost every 15 minutes for almost 6 months, during which time I just kept getting sick.
The doctor managed to convince me to stop and I got better again.

It might be a time for Easter, but for poker fans there's also a tasty selection of poker tournaments to gorge on this weekend.
Starting on opposite sides of the Irish Sea later today is PKR Live and the Irish Open.
PKR's $500 Main Event kicks off inside London's Aspers Casino, while paddypowerpoker's Irish Open takes place at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin.
