Ultimate Poker, a licensed online poker site set to launch real-money poker in Nevada this year, announced Tuesday that it has signed poker pro Antonio Esfandiari as its brand ambassador.
Esfandiari is poker's all-time winningest tournament player with more than $24 million in winnings during his career. He owns two World Poker Tour titles and three World Series of Poker bracelets, including a one-of-a-kind platinum bracelet at last year's Big One for One Drop where he won $18.3 million.
According to an Ultimate Poker press release, Esfandiari will lend "the voice and weight of a true champion to a brand committed to becoming the players' choice for online poker."
"We're thrilled to have Antonio Esfandiari represent our company," said Ultimate Poker chairman Tom Breitling. "Antonio is the ultimate champion and modern poker player. He brings the gaming lifestyle to the online arena with his work-hard, play-hard attitude."
Will be interesting to see if they use the Ultimate Bet skin here. Played there regular (UB) before they went down. Signed up for their contest, who knows, might win a trip to Vegas. Next, maybe Absolute?

G'day mates
Well that is cool that they are going into a live casino setting. Does this mean they will also be coming back online as well? Last I heard they went out of business because of Black Friday.

They're supposed to be coming online...not sure if it's the old UB revamped....wudn't surprise me tho.
@ Mober they both went down some time ago....before Black Friday. Wud like to see them back to give ipoker a run for their the money.
------------ Just got an email confirming my entry into they're contest. Sent their support a query, becoz in the promo it states one can play online poker in Nevada. Too far to go...asked them if they will allow people to play outside Nevada/U.S.....we'll see?

I saw a short interview with Esfandiari and Phil Laak, who are buddies and hang out together, where they were riding some Quad ATV in some sand dunes by Las Vegas. Couple of lunatics those guys,...driving like crazy,...
If my memory serves me correctly,....Laak broke his arm. Maybe it was Esfandiari, but I'm sure it was Laak...
That's how they spend a little time off from poker,...trying to kill themselves...
Received another e-mail just now and to confirm Nevada only for now...they're hoping to add Canada to the list of countries after they start up later this year.

Esfandiari is one of my favorite to watch and think he'll make the site a good rep for the people to want to be a part of. Used to watch him play on High Stakes back in the day with Doyle Brunson and Vanessa Selbst.
I hope this site opens the eyes of everyone against on-line poker so they can see it's not some big scam for embezzlement and that people should be allowed to spend their money here in the U.S. on what they want since this Fkin government takes more then what they deserve now. I work all week to make a $1000.00 and the fkin gov takes $300.00. Then everything I buy after that is taxed again; gas, tools, food, cloths. This stuff is a scam!
