Lmao figured this thread was directed towards my friend ronin, unfortunately.............

, but he's willing to take a friends vacation money and hope to have a good time. A person who would take a friends vacation money to fuel his gambling habits is not a person I would like to deal with. [/QUOTE]

I feel this is completely uncalled for on your behalf crash regardless of what you consider right or wrong , dude just mind your own, and keep your demonizing behaviour to yaself.

Ronin is a good man, and if I had the means ronin you would be playing in the sunday million

It's actually fairly straight forward: The RNG was particularly vulnerable, partly because it was only using a 32bit key (32bit refers to an addressing space) which essentially limits in size the complexity of the key, meaning using a brute-force (processing power) approach, one would be able to crack the key, especially with todays processors and GPUs.

But more importantly, RNGs work by feeding a seed (the 'random' part) into an algorithm. The seed in this case was simply the amount of miliseconds past midnight - this is incredibly weak and not even slightly random. With this information, it's possible to literally map every single virtual deck combination (86,400,000 as per the article, the amount of ms in day), you could then use the known cards to predict the coming cards based on a sample size of a certain amount of milliseconds in terms of a degree of error.. So if you knew it was between 400,000- 400,200 since midnight, you could filter that sample until you found a deck that matched the partial deck you had knowledge of and then correct predict the cards to come.

thank you very much, I appreciate the way you simplified this information, and made it a lot easier to comprehend, I find it all amazing Shock

Hi JWRowell,

Very interesting. I have never heard about top shark untill today.

So, I want to ask is this true that there are some programs that you can see opponent cards. I saw some YouTube videos, but I think it is fake.

But is this true, that there are players who use programs to see the others cards? What do you think about it?

Regards.
Peter7878

i do beleive that years ago there was a pokersite that posted there algarythm to show that it was fair and not rigged and couldnt be cheated, a group of programers then set out to make a gui that took the hole cards and the flop, combined with the possible time or system clock at the start of the hand and the stated algarythem to givve a fairly accurate predicton of the turn and river cards (mabee even other players hole cards), they did it to prove that it can be done and submitted there findings to the pokersite.
needless to say the algarythem was changed and pokersites no longer provide this information.
i could be miss informed about this but if it was correct then this was in the early days of online poker and the sites nowerdays use much better algarythems and dont publically post the code for there rng.

if such software was available then somone would eventually prove there was cheating going on and the cheats would not get away with it in the end, thats what happened with the ultimate bet scandal, a player raised concerns after someone was making all the right moves at the right time, never gettng bad beats , and calling down bluffs with terrible cards alot but never ever losing.

Actually there is a legitimate way to use a program to see other peoples hole cards and I am being serious too (this has happened / probably still happens).

It's easy: You distribute some software and claim it allows people to see other peoples hole cards. But really the program is a Trojan, which notifies you of the victims IP address and when they're logged on. This program then reports back the victims hole cards to the person who distributed the software. That person then plays the victim, knowing their hole cards.

So it's kind of ironic; the person who tries to cheat by downloading cheat software, is the one that gets scammed Blink

I guess thats more of a virus then doing anything in terms of exploiting the software, but still pretty interesting!

Any links or articles?

In response to Drugs, if a poker website posted their algorthym online they probably deserve to be exploited - defo not a smart move! Your defo right about them being caught eventually tho, its pretty obvious (such as the UB scandel) when your winning 120BB per 100 hands.. haha.

DERP. Didnt see the second page on the topic, ignore me... Sleepy

G'day dawggy

You are not alone mate Smile
The stats for myself are all way off too.
Personally I am very happy about that fact.
Do not like the idea that these sites troll the online poker rooms for players states and then just post them without any permission to do so whatsoever, but as long as they keep getting them stats about me completely wrong I will not complain to much Smile
Thank God the site does not even track over 90% of the games I play.
Like the old McDonald's commercial says"I'm loving it."
Be cool mates and best of luck to you at the tables.

Ronin

the sites are not allways 100% accurate but they are generaly pretty close and gives good idea of someones ability.
just like to say if anybody want to insist that the sites are wrong and the say im a losing player but im acctually a winning player you are either deluded or lying, sorry but that is the truth.
people should not moan about these sites they are actually a really good tool to understanding the leaks in your game, especially if you dont want to go out and purchase tracking software.
also the end result it gives is not the amount you won but your profit (winnings - buy in and rake) and for rebuy tournaments it assumes you took 1 rebuy and one add on.

WATCH OUT poker world,....together with my severely inflated misleading ratings on that site, the ChromeStar hickeys on my neck,....and the beady eyed mezmerizing poker face on Ol' Beaky, I shall conquer PokerStars and take ALL the chips SITE-WIDE....
