Just got out of a $5.50 buyin which lasted over 5 hours and nearly 1000 players. It so sad to play that long and barely double your money. I had some bad beats and went pretty low a few times. A donk playing his 9,2 and hitting two 2's by the river and the same donk plays a 10, 7 and hits it on the flop. I tilted on him at this point and kept raising him every time he was the blind.
Anyway, I finished in 80th place to make a mere $10+ and lost it on my A,J allin since I was in position, but SB called and had A,K. Bad move by me, but was really tired!

it is still a good run....but you should thnk if it`s worth it...5$ for 5 hours....1 $ per hours and for a 80th place....I am in no place to give advice about poker...but I think I can advice you to calm yourself down when you are on tilt and try to last more and more when you are small stacked because in this type of mtt the money prizes increses exponential after the 100th mark Good luck on you next tournaments!

G'day mate
Wow you actually think a $1 per hour of play is worth it. I my province minimum hourly wage I believe is above $10 per hour. People still need to work more than one job just to survive. Most household are two income family units and many are finding it hard to just stay afloat. Trust me in this part of the world $1 per hour is not worth it.

Hey Mr.Snake....
Look at it the way I do.... Sure it was a lot of time to only make $5 profit,...BUT,...it was a shot at a LOT of money. You didn't get deep enough to rake in the BIG bucks,...so just consider the money you DID get as a consolation prize...

Exactly, that`s what I was saying by good run...no loss+ a little profit+a shot to the big money... I know 1$ per hour isn`t much...it`s almost nothing...but 5 of this tourneys at a time and you make half a wage

You make a very valid point there. It a person is multi tabling like most of us do then that would not be so bad when added to other table winnings.

Yes,....like the boys say,....add up any wins from the multi-tabling,...and it could be just a part of a nice haul...
Another way I look at it is,.... you won enough to buy you into TWO more $5.50s, and TWO more shots at the final table and some considerable winnings...
The tourneys I tend to multi-table the most are:
$2.75 at 5:00pm Eastern
Big $4.40 at 5:30 Eastern
$1.10 at 6 Eastern
Big $2.20
If so much as ONE tourney gives me back my total buy in for all 4,...then I'm NOT UN-happy....
Just glad to break even after all is said and done...
Much prefer to win some decent cash in some or all and grow the roll.
What is a TOTAL bummer though,...is to get hammered in all 4 and lose...

I try and tend to look past buyin's alot of times and try to compare my finished place to how many runners to help decide whether I played well or not. Trust me I am not a happy camper even in a .50 tourney and not make the money. I had a 32/9700 runners in that hot .55 turbo last week and wow for the length of time Invested and my Return kind of sucked, however 32 out of that many runners is a great feat!
