On Monday, Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu took down the WSOP APAC Main Event for AUD$1,038,825 and received his fifth WSOP gold bracelet! He outlasted a field of 405 players and had to defeat a tough final table that included big names such as Benny Spindler, Thomas Russel and Winfred Yu.
It was five years ago (2008 WSOP $2,000 Limit Hold'em) since Negreanu won his fourth bracelet, so one ca[...] Read more » Negreanu Wins WSOP APAC Main Event (AUD$1,038,825)

Wow what a great accomplishment for one of my all time favorite poker players, Daniel Negreanu. It took some time, 4 years, but he has got another bracelet again
Negreanu put an end to a frustrating half decade of close calls at the WSOP that included a runner-up finish to Barry Shulman at the 2009 WSOP Europe Main Event. He said afterward that everything about his fifth bracelet was significant, but winning the inaugural Main Event in Australia made it extra special.

By far my favorite prof aswell, I had the luck once on pokerstars to be seated on a cash table with him. This was a promotion from stars as it was only a 10/25 cent table. He was chatting the whole time and just being a normal nice guy. Think he has a great sense of humor.
Best thing I 've ever seen of him was a match during the world cup heads up....he was playing his ex girlfriend ( cant find her name righr now) and he was actually correctly reading all her cards and really all of them, it was so sick, she had no idea what to do anymore.....brilliant it was

Another bracelet bites the dust! I love Negreanu, he's always unbelieveably motivated to beat the game no matter how it changes. A true testiment to his ability. Congrats to Daniel!

Hey, Daniel is a great roll model, I look up to him a lot he was raised in my city Toronto and actually began his poker career in the pool halls of downtown Toronto, I can only hope to be 10% as successful, he is the best of the best and sometime in the future I will also win a few W.S.O.P titles, the only thing is I have to learn more stuff about the game of poker, I mean there is a sh it load to comprehend, and after I fully understand the game properly I am sure I can get me a W.S.O.P championship, just have to grind real hard for the Buy-ins

Haven't seen or heard much from him lately. Good for the win!
I saw a documentary about poker grinders in Toronto recently. Was about the trials and tribulations of a few guys who play poker for a living.
It included some segments about how Daniel came up grinding away at sometimes secretive and dangerous events. Underground tourneys getting busted by the good ol' Toronto cops...
It then went on to show his magnificent palace in Las Vegas complete with a beautiful putting green...

HE WILL NEVER READ MY COMMENT BUT I HAVE TO SAY: CONGRATIONS DANIEL NEGREANU FOR WINNING THAT 5th WSOP BRACELET I think he is more happy for won that bracelet than that $1 million... cuz he have enough money... wish i'll meet him someday (hope at a FT and play HU against him)
"One of the things I realized about poker is that I've always been the most successful when I am enjoying what I'm doing, not taking myself too seriously, not over-thinking things. Just play, man! And that's what I did from the get go in this tournament. I didn't worry about what the fundamentals are or what people would say. I just did what I do. I played my way. And in the end it paid off."
That is so true! Just do what feels like the right thing in the moment without overthinking. Great way to approach NLHE!

G'day mates
Well some of you might remember a posted in another thread a couple days ago that I was glad that Phil Ivey got himself knocked out of this tournament. I said specificly that I was glad because it meant that my favorite player Daniel Negreanu's chances to win went up a lot. Now he win's it all for a 5th title bracelet. Sometimes it feels so good to be right

don't you guys ever see anything that was well I can only say he is a luckbox on more than one hand.
look at this one for instance
on ft neg chippo and Tsatis 2nd in chips Tsatis JJ Neg AQ
FLOP JJQ
Turn card didn't help any hand
River Q
Now 2 outs and Neg hits his Q
Jeez man were is Tsatis now probably still in the canal
Don't say well that's poker yes but that put Neg up to over 10 million in chips
Why are you all saying he is a super human poker player he aint won much in the last 5 years or so to shout about in the WSOP since his last bracelet so stop pumping him up like he's the best thing since sliced bread he would have been out of Stars in the next year if he hadn't won that bracelet also you need to look at some more of his luckbox moves there are so many to choose from and that's just on the ft.
