Well, i have been playing poker here at my own table and also play at a couple friends tables, usually 10 - 20 dollars, We usually play the shoot-out style of pokerwinner takes all... and i have been winning frequently, like every 3 out of 5 games on my good days....we usually play twice a week, And this is how i fund my online poker account.... i'd say im not a bad player live, and online i usually play sng, i play sng because i know it is almost the same style we play at our games.....
i would like to ask fellow brm'ers thoughts on how to convert your live play to online play, as i amdoing something wrong... i have been selective about my cards, and aggressive preflop, when i have holdings of AA - A10, and suited connectors from 78 - J10....
i would also know where i can find help on my odds

It sounds like you just need abit practice, it's difficult to go from live to online as the reads become very different.
When i first started online i found it best to play a super tight range and some basic set mining, then you can watch and learn from other players mistakes untill you feel more comfortable playing a wider range.
It really helps if you can identify which players your playing against too. It's pretty vital as you need to realise when you got to change your range. Sometimes you need to call a loose shove with Ax or a small pair.
If your looking for odds during play, i'd advise trying a free trial of poker-edge or tournamentindicator. (or just google Poker odds hud and have a look yourself . )

Congrats for winnings... last week i've played a MTT of $3(that means 10RON) + rebuy with friends (8 players)... i won over than $60 and i have to say... always when i play LIVE i win over than $50 or lose maximum $3-$6 ... but when i play online i can win maximum $5 and i can lose all my BR ... that's why i play rare online... wish you win all your friends money

It's much easier to hop on your computer and play some Holdem than drive to your local card room... if you even have one. And for many good poker players, playing multiple tables online can be more profitable than the slow pace of a live poker game.
However, a live poker game is thrilling. It's just a lot of fun and way more exciting. Peaking at your cards, pushing those chips in, observing your opponents looking for poker tells, controlling your own emotions and tells... there's a lot going on in a live game and many online poker players are now getting their feet wet in the live game.
While Texas Holdem is the same game whether online or live, and the basic strategies are the same, live poker introduces some new and different facets. Poker Tells is the major factor that separates the good players from the stellar ones in live poker games. Live poker also introduces table etiquette - tipping the dealer, verbalizing your actions, etc.

i think a lot depends on what structure u'r playing with your friends & also never underestimate the fact that u might have a good read on your friends game (or maybe they are very sh1tty players) - so when u move to online poker, u suddenly lose the edge u had - and if u start at the lowest stakes (which most players do, but lowest stakes = highest rake) the gameplay is absolutely different. so play a lot (within your limits), study strategy if u wanna- i think ultimately the more u play the better u get. gl

I think now online you might be on a downswing, i mean i see no reason for which you are good live but unable to be a profitable player online...
And here is another thing, you play with the same friends when you play so you become to know those players very well. Online there are different players with different styles of play.

Have to agree with a lot said here. I was the other way round and started live then thought i'd give online a try.
I find it a totally different game in some respects, after all i cant say i've ever sat at a live table and seen 3 people shove all-in on the first hand!! lol
It just takes time to adapt and get used to it. A lot of time and a lot of hands.
I don't think people watching tv shows helps as they no doubt see someone playing and winning with a rag hand and think that's how to play. After all its only a mouse click, there's nothing physical about it. It's a lot harder to actually push chips over the line with nothing than it is to click
I don't think the OP is doing much wrong, except on-line it seems you are always far more likely to have callers chasing (and hitting!) their draws but hopefully it will eventually balance itself out. After all if you are playing enough hands that have a 50+% chance of winning then you will eventually win more than you lose.
