Ray Bitar, the man behind Full Tilt, appeared via video link to answer charges of fraud, gambling and money laundering
Having been allowed to virtually submit his guilty plea, Bitar maintained his offer to forfeit $40 million of his personal wealth and was additionally sentenced to time served.
The sentence was given in light of his heart condition that doctors have stated could kill him within 6-12 months if he doesn't get a transplant.
During the trial Bitar's lawyers disclosed that he is currently enrolled on a heart transplant program that will commence on May 6.
Time served means that Bitar's previous seven days in prison back in July 2012 will be to his sentence, meaning that he will avoid a further stint in prison.
