G'day mates
Been on a month long downswing. With all my ups and down this month I am currently DOWN. I have just spent the last few hour totaling up my wins and loses thus far for the year.
This is the first time since 2005 that I find myself to be a losing poker player.
Yep that is correct. Right now I am down $36.08

Well you just might be right. I am not feeling very high and mighty right now. Actually I am kinda torn. One the one hand it is good to know where one stands. It also sucks to realize that for the first time in years I am actually down. I feel like a total loser.
well I will recover but right now it just feels crappy.

That's not massive at all, I had one for a year. Either stop playing for a bit, or shut up and drink your medicine like a man. I'm not trying to be horrible in saying that, but that is the reality of it.

Well, a downswing is never nice, but its not that much... Maybe you should take a short break or you try out some different variation of Poker (Omaha etc.) just for the fun of it and to refresh your mind. Nevertheless I wish you GL at the tables.

I get those from time to time ( every couple of months ) even thou I am still up overall whenever dropping $30 or $40 it just gets under my skin and affects my play for the next days. I can't take big breaks thou coz i miss the action right after a few days. Maybe u changed something in ur usual game that u shouldn't... or maybe it's still the aftermath from ur bankroll loss. Whatever it is try not to mind it so much mate. We are still deep in the first half of the year so it all can change drastically before 2014 shows up.

So this is the first month in about 8 years you are down...somehow i just dont believe that. About 100 months and you are down in 1...you must made tons of money if thats true. Why still play micro's if you where up for almost 100 months ?
And why the hell you titel this thread as MASSIVE downswing.. There is nothing massive about a downswing of 36.08 even if you play micro's

yeah i got to say it's not really a massive downswing. I've just lost $100 in 2hours playing nl10 rush. Now that's a downswing lol Is that just from tournaments Ronin or cash games aswell?

G'day mate You misunderstand me. I guess I should have been more specific 1 month ago I was up over $400 now I am down $36.08 so in just a month I dropped almost $450 at the cash tables. To me a $450 drop in one month is a massive down swing in overall online bankroll. If you disagree then hey that is great for you mates. As always wishing you all the best. I am going to re evaluate my game for a few days to try and discover and correct any leaks. Want to become a winning player again. Also I have had many months over the years when I have lost money. This is not the 1st one in the last 100 months. This is just the 1st time in a very long time when I was not at least showing some kind of profit for the year overall. Overall this year from January 1st to this morning I am down a messily $36 bucks. I realize that its a very small loss. It is just the amount of drop which concerns me.

Be cool mates

Ok then you should have mentioned you had a downswing of 436.08 then it would be more clear. Also you said in your first post

That seems like you saying you never been down since 2005 But i understand this was not exactly what you meant now.
No problem but maybe you should explain it more clear next time.

Well that is a lot different I guess you should of been more specific in your original post lol. Yeah $450 is a massive drop indeed. You should of said that you were down over $400 because you are. That was your money, you earned it and now it's gone. Good luck getting your game back Ronin. Sometimes we play that often we forget how to play like we were when we were winning. Good luck bud

Do you use a HUD? Maybe there's more to it than a downswing?
It could be that some of the people you play against, discovered a leak in your game that's being exploited. Have you noticed any particular players that you lose money to?
I myself check every now and then, to whom I lose the most money, and examine them specifically. You can then devise a strategy against them, or simply stay away. Tracker software is invaluable for this purpose.

Ya Ronin,...once you have it,...then lose it,...it's a loss...
If you attain a certain level and drop from there,...then ya,...that's a downswing.
Good thing about things that swing, is that at some point it'll swing back up,...but just when is the question....
If you're not trying to keep up on a leaderboard somewhere,....maybe best take a break for several days or a week and replenish your appetite for poker. Sounds maybe like a case of over-eating to me...
Take in a little Fredericton night life for a bit....
Wait,.....does a quaint little town like Fredericton HAVE a night life...? heheeeeeeeeeee.....

The amount you are down is not a big one, but i understand your point of view since you are at it for the very first time. A break some times helps take your mind from it.

G'day, dude...
I can't stop laughing... =))))
But think positive..after a while i post a reply, and you're the winner!
So... massive means 36,08? :O or 486,08? I think is 36,08, b/c you have accurately specified and you played micro buy-in's (like people said).
You play poker since 2005 and only now you're downswing? Maybe, but since 2005 what kind of poker you played, and how much did you won, that makes you cry like a poor little girl for 40$?? LooL... Also you say to us, it's time to read some books. Why? If this is the only time when you lost 40$, take a break and hit the green again. Imagine how many peopple, reading books, loose thousands in a hour. Let the books...they might give you some huge downswings..
I saw a post where you "didn't" ask for been stacked ... LoooL.
P.S. I saw you playin`.. :-j No wonder why... Let the hate behind, smile! ------
Oh, wait, i have more to say!
i Just remembered you borrowed some money, from Pochui, i think. And someone told you it's a shame, at age 44 to not have your money... I will not judge you for that. No one can judge us, except God and people who was already judged. But why you don't do something when you don't have money, instead to borrow and cryin`??? Like playin` FRs, those kind of games, what you said is for losers... And you don't care what is happening there(clones, non-members). and always been contrary with people who asked for justice. HuH?!?!?! I I offered to loan dawg, coz i trust him, also he is playin FRs, also loves justice. But i will not give 5 cents to other people, even they are from Romania (not b/c i don't trust in them, coz i'm a naive person and i have a huge heart, just b/c "they" don't do something to show they deserve).
But you made a post, about "don't" asking for been stacked(testing the field)...215$ SM... LooL! Are you serious?!?!?!
---Another thing
I guess if i already started, let's finish..
I saw a lot of post about been stacked, why?? Go to "work". Play FRs, and learn how is money made. I personal eat it sh!t in FRs...huh...like never b4. Playin` FRs day by day and night by night. That way money comes. Also, ppl cryin` coz they didn't won on calendar, or mob safe...are you serious???

Hi Ronin,
I am sorry for your losses. 4_the_W is right. I think you should take a vacation with your family. Be social, communicate with your friends. By the way I also play freerolls days and nights. Last time I won 5 pounds from Sky Poker very fast. From Full Tilt Poker I won $5 etc. So, through freerolls you could have your bankroll.
But, don't play with money which you can not afford it. Don't play poker with your salary or deposit only just 5% from your salary, not more. You are not a teenager. This is just an advice. Because last year I worked hard all the summer and for three days I lost $500 at PokerStars. Well, that was my lesson. From that moment I play only freerolls and that is the way how I make my bankroll. I don't like to risk anymore like I did last summer.
Be carefull. Don't depress. Just quit poker for a while, or play freerolls and take some time with your family and friends.
