Would have just been a huge shock wave, not too mention the mental shock (they would have flinched/jumped when it happened). They wouldn't have actually been effected by heat or shrapnel at that distance.

Wow I am glad I was only watching that in front of my computer. It still made me jump the first time. I know if I had been there I would have needed to change my shorts and clean myself up for sure. One scary explosion there.

DUDe a few summers ago here in Toronto actually close to where I live a propane plant blow up, It was actually night time I was out side when it happened turned from night to Day Huge mushroom cloud type explosion it was scary to say the least thought we were all dead (you can google Toronto propane explosion to see what I did)
