From poker to porn  0
When Black Friday struck a number of US online pros had to search for a new way to make money. While some set-up camp in places where online poker was still legal, others looked at new ventures.
Three high stakes players have taken the latter option and invested their bankrolls in a new adult site called PaintBottle.
Having met one of the creators, Craig Hensley, when he helped them set-up Canadian bank accounts, the pros decided to invest in his start-up company.
Although the three pros haven't been named, they have been described as "the best high stakes heads-up poker players in the world".

It must be pretty hard to make any money from porn these days, given how many free streaming sites there are.. I mean, honestly - who here has ever paid to watch porn?

How do modern porn sites generate their revenue? Just from advertising? I know a lot of streaming porn sites include advertising for: Dating sites, sex drugs (Viagra) and paraphernalia (penis enlargement stuff too), premium (pay) sites..

But the streaming sites don't have many over-heads, they're just hosting content that they didn't create. Can content creators really make that much money? After paying for the 'stars' of the show, the film-equipment and locations, etc..

I imagine it's an extremely tough market to crack, despite there being such an incredible demand.

Curious now - has anyone EVER paid to access a porn site?

I remember when I was a teenager, in the 90s - I found you could either find free/pirate sites - or, there used to be a lot of password-sharing sites.. So you could go to a site that listed a bunch of "0-day" logins for sites, usually most were already blocked, but occasionally some were legit and you could get access to premium/paid content.

It really blows me away that anyone would PAY for porn these days..

I should say, I read that article and hehe.. looked at the site.. after I wrote what I did. It is NOT a pay-site. But that is kind of my point, it must be very hard to make money, hosting content from free and relying on advertising revenue alone. That said; I suppose that is basically how all websites serve profit. Still though, porn is a huge market with so many dominating sites already, you would really have to bring something new to the table to be successful and profitable.

did it ever occur to you that porn can also be used to enhance healthy relationships, or that people who enjoy it aren't actually slaves to it? You could make the same arguments about spending money making dining experiences better, or improving any other normative but potentially addictive human behavior.!

I think porn makes it's money the same way as the casino sites; rich (b)ankers with more money than sense and more than they can possibly spend on worth while things try to find as many dumb vices as they can to blow their wad. Rather than give money to charity or good causes or you know pay taxes some sugar daddies get their kicks from paying some tart to chat on the phone to them and send them expensive jewelry for nothing, while others will watch those tv channels and pay whatever simply cos they can.

In fact most of those free streaming porn sites advertise internet chat, which is incredibly annoying when you just want to watch free vids. But in the old days they just advertised other free to view sites in a weird circle of advertising with only a few profitable sites in the mix. But it's not just porn that has this problem. One of the biggest criticisms of social networking is that it functions merely on selling stats and potential customers to companies. Your facebook account is not a product... you are. We are all the free employees of these sites who become the products that they market, but if we don't buy anything from the site's clients the whole thing collapses. And this is why fb is trying to monetise games and virtual products so that just like porn, some idiots will pay to keep the whole messy unsustainable system working.

now that started considering this is the road i am on...i am a "pro" poker player, some time agos started to shift towards softcore with all those melon deliveries- so next natural step would be to dive in to hardcore porn Shock now all i need is "investment partners" and maybe a few studs (we're gonna make brm famous Big Smile )

yellow press. if i was involved in this project, they wouldn't end up calling themselves "paintbottle" - probably sth like "sausage on da melons" or "vertical meat meats horizontal melons"
