i raise with a good starting hand, say KQ, then get re-raised and without AK, AA, KK, QQ i fold

should i be increasing my range slightly?

the times i have called, theyve got monsters and ive lost money!

What kind of games are you referring to? cash games? sng? mtt?

Anyway, generally speaking, it depends on the 3-bet raise percentage of the 3-bettors: the wider it is the more you should 4bet. but you have also to consider stacks involved and, in case of sng and mtt, consider the stacks in amount of Big Blinds and how far you are from ITM positions.

i play mainly cash games, mainly zoom with some sngs

and as a follow on - what sort of hands should i raise to a bet pre flop on top of AK, AA - QQ

For cash your reraise range is perfect if you ask me especially on micro and low stakes.

On higher stakes you could actually play a bit loose simply because players open with weaker hands compared to lower stakes.
