well well well...that's an unexpected ending to the story (oh wait this is not an ending...this probably will drag on for a few more years in courts). i wonder what the final outcome will be: if we had bets on offer- will ivey get his money back or will he stay with empty pockets...and the odds would be evens- i would have a bet on the casino winning the case...

His lawyer, Matthew Dowd, said it "was with great regret that Phil has been forced to issue court proceedings against Crockfords to secure payment of his winnings".
Genting said in a statement that it did not comment "on matters involving individual members".
"However, in this rare instance we are able to confirm that our position, which is supported by strong legal advice, has been made very clear to Mr Ivey's solicitors from the start," he added.
"We shall be filing our defence shortly and defending this claim vigorously."

I hate to say it but I hope Phil Ivey wins this court case. I mean when someone plays in a casino and loses they sure as hell want their money paid to them. It has to work both ways too. All players should just stop playing there if they will not pay people when they win. What a bunch of bastards.
