How to improve HU play in 6 handed SnG  0
I have made a post before saying that my problem was my bubble play. Now I've improved that and when playing on the bubble I get ITM more often then not. So now on to my next problem: The HU play.

As I've said I'm playing 6 handed SnG's and trying to master those. So far I'm doing quite well with a ~$14 profit over all. But that number will soon change for the better as soon as I've read the responses to come to this thread.

My HU stats for the latest SnGs are:
1st: 7
2nd: 13

Obviously I'm doing something wrong since a lot of times I've actually been ahead going into HU play. So what I'm looking for is some advise as to how to improve my HU game. I know that they say that playing aggressive HU is key but for some reason that doesn't seem to work for me. And yes, I know the difference between aggressive poker and stupid poker Tongue

So, what other ways are there to approach these games? I need some advise so I can improve my game and get some bigger profits! Big Smile

You seem to have the right advice there my friend. SOmetimes no matter how you play the poker gods conspire against you and evcen though your starting hands are best placed to win, the community cards seean end to that in favour of your opponent. Assess your opponent and play positively at every opportunity.

Depends on your read of the opponent. Is he passive aggressive/agro aggressive/just plain lucky hittin everything. What happens when you 3 bet a raise? Does he fold to a 4-5 bet shove? You know how you got there/how did he get there? Can you determine how wide his range is? Is is fairly tight or does he play any two? Tend to watch for these indicators when HU.

I play tight in HU,....it seems to lull the opponent into thinking you are a pushover,...then BAM hit him good when you have a premium hand when he raises big... he'll usually fold thinking he'll lose...

...a few of those will demoralize him, and when you have him on the ropes,....finish him off! Big Smile

And if you do not have the info ..

try to attack his blinds as much as possible with any decent hand like any suited hands or connected cards... look how he reacts on yor raises (folds, calls or reraises)

If he s folding a lot, you can try raise with worse cards and jsut call with better hands and kill him postflop when you hit.

If he s calling a lot of your preflop raisies, watch with what cards.

If he s reraising, be carefull
