Showing cards  0
Do you think it is a good idea to show cards when playing?

At first I didn't show any, but I think showing a few small bluffs or wins with inferior hands shows you to be loose, and therefore might draw somebody into a bet later on

What's your views?

I have seen people show cards in both live and online play, and IMO if you are going to do this you need to know exactly what emotion or response you are trying to invoke from the other players at the table. If you are not sure and have seen it done by others or on TV and it looked cool, then my advice is don't. I stick to the adage that if you want to see the cards you have to pay, no free information or misinformation.

Yes, it is good as long as not too often. that's part of tactic too. to show to others our play then change gear Big Smile Big Smile . When bluff is best moment I think to show opponent we not just play good hand, and when we really have we catch them Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

never ever ever show your cards
every time you raise, bet pot or fold or whatever your opponents are trying to figure out what ranges or cards you do that with, when you show them your cards you are showing them how you play.
i only show the nuts (best possible hand).

Nope,..... I generally never show cards,...but there is an occassional exception...

...and that's when there's an idiot at the table bullying and walking all over everybody. I try and wait for the perfect opportunity to beat his ass with junk,...then show him the bluff to put him on tilt.... Big Smile

They get really used to winning pot after pot after pot,...and they need a wake up call.... Smile

Do it like Lex during WSOP -----> bluff - show, bluff - show, bluff - show, big hand everyone calls --> big pot owned. Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile but only few can do it really good.

On every poker site that i play the auto muck option is activated for me!

To me and i think to the majority of players showing your cards it shows that you are a weak player...

i prefer not to show becouse u can play more aggresive play then u ll not showing cards
if ull show cards u ll be more readable player and a monsters off play very easy kills u at poker tables so better never show your poker hands if all fold Big Smile

The only time I'll show my cards is if I've got a Royal Flush, straight flush or four of a kind. Only showing down big hands sticks in people's minds, and with my style of play - I want to be avoided, not chased.

If your style is loose, and bluff heavy, then it is a good idea to show down a few marginal holdings to get big action when you do have the hand.

This is why I love poker so much... so many ways of looking at it.

imho showing boobs when playing is better: it distracts opponents much more....inly problem is it doesn't work against women or gays

Another important point to make Steffi, is that with so many people using tracking software nowadays, if you don't show your cards, you give no information at all. If you do show your cards, you give ALL the information possible. To be stored for eternity.

i only show the bluffs now and again,if there is a player at the table whom i don't like or he's being a bully and i catch him then i show it and laugh ( i know i shouldn't )
but really if they want to see then they gotta pay.

Hello,

I show sometimes, but depends on tourneys, and after i see how they play. When i show a very good hand, next time i can win with a bluff. And when i show a bluff, im shure i pissed someone off and he will call me next time when i have a good hand.
And sometimes i play to make the other players angry. Sometimes just go all-in , first 2-3 hands they dont call me. But then i show them a bad hand, and then again allin with a very good hand , and they call, and i win. But this again, need to know the ppls from your tables, and depends on the tourney.

Have a nice day/night and GL.

I think is a good ideea for show your cards only when you bluff... then if you have AA or KK and shove, show them cards only if they call you and you win their money, is good and bad to show your cards, because they learn your style and you can't win Smile

Best advice is to not show anything.

I try using this to my advantage. I may show my strong hands to give a player the false image so if I do bluff I have better odds of making it happen. I will never show a bluff and never have since this s generally an insult. It only my opinion which doesn't account for a lot though!

depends on where your at in the game... in the first few rounds it definitively the worth it to show your cards baut later on, around bubble and on the final table it may help your image and let you pass some bluff later on. I don't use to show my cards but I'm still open to the idea at some points, sometimes
