Often the poker table is the place where the least interesting action is going on. Poker is played by a vast array of interesting people all with interesting stories to tell. Anecdotes abound in poker with every player getting into scrapes during their pursuit of poker greatness. You will know your own favorite poker story possibly something you encountered with friends during an epic session of poker.

There have been a couple of instances where players have mucked the best hand then torn their cards to shreds in anger. After being banned by the casino they were made to pay for a new deck of cards before being escorted from the premises. Some of the best poker moments are those where humor is concerned, but there are also infamous stories that are so unique they are very memorable.

Amarillo Slim, an 80 year old poker player, went to a pre-arranged destination to pick up a 4-wheeler as collateral against a $3,000 gambling debt that he was owed. Unfortunately for Slim it was an ambush and he was badly beaten and had $8,000 cash and an $85,000 diamond ring stolen. He chose not make a complaint to the Police despite obviously knowing the assailants.

Dave "The Devilfish" Ulliott tells a poker story about when he went all-in against a player on a bluff that suddenly had a heart attack while he was considering whether or not to call his bluff. The pot was very large and in his last breath the player said “I call” before collapsing and being taken to hospital. Dave was unhappy that the player’s brother collected the money and he was left rueing his bad luck. The player who collapsed was more unlucky and he died later in hospital, despite making a great call.

In Scotland a very bizarre story occurred regarding a young man called Christopher Proudfoot, then 28, who was fired and then arrested after fraud investigators realized he had embezzled £936,000 to fuel an online poker addiction. He had abused his position as a credit controller and had access to the money. Christopher was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment for his crimes in March 2009 in one of the biggest online poker frauds

Tom Sexton might not share the same popularity as his younger brother, Mike, but amongst poker's veterans he's just as revered.

Indeed, Tom has been involved in a number of poker projects over the years, including the Tournament of Champions with his brother.

However, in the last month he's been forced to stop work due to pancreatic cancer.

After doctors failed to spot the disease, Tom suffered a major stroke on June 10 and is currently trying to recover in hospital.

In a bid to support Tom and ease the financial burden on his family a You Care Campaign has been set up.

With a goal of $10,000, many members of the community, including Nolan Dalla, have already pledged their support.

Yea indeed.
Take a look that they are replying each others threads with another copy paste article.
This is getting a bit of ridiculous if you ask me.
At least get the story and right a few things about it with your own words.

It's the kind of copy paste that is interesting to read about as far as I'm concerned. Post some more like that and I'll read them all day. They are topics of interest not political articles that were copy pasted. Now this is only for the initial post! I mean it's telling stories of incidences that have taken place in poker games / hands. How else would one share this information.

And this may pizz you off noob, but who made you judge and jury to demoralize a post? Your 26 years old and feel you have that authority????????????????????? I say let's vote on it!

This thread's fine by me,..... I couldn't care less what folks post up unlesss it's a pic of me having a big dump or something....

...as far as the types of folks who play poker,...they can be really nice,...or terribly rotton,...either way, poker relies on the worst in people... You have to be a good liar, wiesel, chisler, be greedy, deceitfull,...and use a whole host of other bad human traits... Big Smile Confused

Sometimes copy n paste is the way to go ...only boz if one changes the text around then the intent is lost or better yet misconstrued. In this case, tend to use quotes and/or credit the original author.
IMHO the post here is generally good and interesting...the only thing missing are some key strokes and/or an explanation of the research involved. Smile

i dnt mind exact copy pasting news, but i dnt like ppl copy pasting a researched article as your own work.
least u can do is credit the original author.

but if ppl dnt mind they can continue posting.
i just put up my opinion, not saying all should agree to that

I just think some things such as this, short stories or cases of incidences that have occurred playing poker isn't like straight up plagiarism. I mean that's like telling a joke that wasn't yours to begin with. I know what your saying and what your pointing out, but to post something about such as this isn't really so bad.

I surely don't want to read something like an article or piece of literature that's been written by someone else, copied and pasted. I just had to blow you some poop, but don't be upset! It was just my opinion.

I still like you noob! Thumbs Up Worship
