Should I keep hounding a scammer ?  0
Someone on here made a post begging for funds from players off here because they were waiting for their cashout from BRM to come through.

I very kindly lent him the money, but when he got his money from BRM he never repaid me, he just disappeared from the forum for a while and now he's back pretending no one remembers it.

Should I keep reminding him about what he did.. More importantly, should we allow scammers on this site, or should be hound them out and make sure they never get a free cent off anyone on here again.

I would never lend someone money here or somewhere else if I'm not 200% sure the person will repay me...
I mean cmon we all know the internet is full of scammers and they are the ones you'll never imagine to be one. SO JUST BE VERY CAREFUL GUYS.

Thank you Smile

He broke the forum rules for asking. You broke the forum rules for taking part. He "won" and you lost. Lesson learned, I guess?

It depends.... If some one time poster is lookin' for $5 or $10 or whatever... certainly NOT!!! Not a hope in hell,...not gonna happen.

Now if it was someone who regularly posts here,...and he's not a stalker, and he was short a few cents or a buck for that $1.10, $2.20 or $4.40 game or whatever,....then that I would consider.

After all,...there was a few members here who 'OFFERED' (4 the W) to help me out. They offered, I didn't ask,...so that tells me that there are very good and nice folks here...

I will confess,....I was a moocher on here one night several months ago. I had suffered MASSIVE bad beats for about a week straight which ate up my bankroll. It was coming down to the re-buy period in a Priviledge freeroll, and possibly needed .01c (one cent) if a hand didn't go my way in the next 20 minutes or so,....so I swallowed my pride, got down on the ground like a snake,....and BEGGED for the penny.. Confused

A few minutes later mies sent me the penny,....but by then I had hit a nice hand BIG time,...and didn't need to re-buy, and the penny neither,...so I sent it back.

Hey,...if the guy keeps posting here,...keep hounding him,...maybe 'reminding' is a better word... Thumbs Up

Of course... I fully understand that, and my generous nature sometimes gets me into spots like this.

I just hate it when people take advantage of someones generosity then parades around here like it doesn't matter. Its not just me he did it to either, he did it to several members.

I koow I shouldn't have lent him the money, but there are so many players on here that would have done the decent thing and repaid it fully without question. The bad ones always ruin it for the good members.

I support the proposal that members that post beg threads to be banned from the forums, it's sad on the other part to see that are people that actually believe them and send them cash...

I mean someone that virtually has a zero bankroll it's more than likely to lose the little money you send them. Please do not forget that here we are on a site which offers free poker bankrolls, so why ask money from people when you can get a ndb and if you got some skills you'll never have to ask for money from anyone.

G'day Mate

I have just read your original post.
Since I have been in the hospital for the last 2 months I really do not know who it is you have the beef with at this time.
I would however think that if this person is a repeat offender then you should keep reminding people they can not trust them to keep there word.

In the past some good mobster friends offered to help me out when I needed a little help.
pochui loaned me some funds to play an $11 buy in tournament and I lost.
I did not run and hide I stood up like a man and informed him exactly what happened and then did everything in my power to get him all his money back + interest.
We both were plead to have worked together.

best of luck to you.

be cool.

generally all those staking/beggin etc. deals are against the rules, just as admin pointed out, but they do add some spark to the forum- we love to see a deal that goes through successfully and pile loads of sh1t on the giulty part when the deal goes bad...

i personally had all sorts of deals on here: been staked in a home game (by takingdrugs and zeroster), been staked by this threads author (although didn't deliver any positive results), took part in a BAP with jessthehuman showing lots of belief in my poor poker skills, received gift from bullettooth and Ronin Harper, staked myself some brm'er in a home game, loaned money to Ronin...maybe sth else that i forgot...really lots of experience, and i am very grateful for it - experience good or bad makes us stronger, wiser...but sometimes poorer Big Smile though sometimes richer Dollar

thanks everyone that i had deals with, was nice to have business with you Worship

Dont think that anything good can come out of it. Just more nagging.
Its a move that you shouldnt have done from the beginning.
Unfortunately you must pay for most of the lessons in this life Smile

i just think that if you can't afford to lose it then you shouldn't lend it out, i mean if i lend money to someone i'm not really expecting it back as they must be in need of it to ask, so they are under pressure to win with it. When they lose how can they pay it back ? that's why i will not give too much because if/when they lose i can take the hit.
although i must say i have got money back a few times and it is nice, but overall i don't expect it.
To answer your original question,if they haven't got back to you with a reason as to why they didn't pay you then i think you are within your rights to have a go at them as the least they could do is give you an explanation.
good luck in getting it back.
Thumbs Up

Name and shame!

You learn from your mistakes so I would not bother lending anyone money again unless you know they are trustworthy.

The amount isn't important. Its the principle. I helped him out when he needed cash quickly because he was waiting for his BRM cashout. He promised 2 people on here he'd repay them when he got his BRM money, and neither of us ever saw the money again.

Now he's parading around like he's done nothing wrong, and even being cheeky enough to tell me I am the one with a problem...

Well I admire the fcumred as he tries t help fellow members here ...

But I am wondering why someone is asking or begging for money as my first rule is I play with my own money. Defenitely not loan money to play.

If you loan money and not repay is telling a lot of the person itself and I think you should remind him if he returns on the forum and tries it again (also to want other mobsters)

Finally I want to say I enjoyed readings blogs/threads of mobsters that got money from other members to play a certain number of torneys ....

To be honest, if he'd just said "can you give me the money" I think I'd have been cool with that. I have given other players money off here, and I don't expect it back. When I give money back then I don't expect it to ever be returned. Its only if they ask me for it, and they make a promise, that's when I get angry.

If he had come back on here afterwards and said "look, I played and lost the money" then I would have been fine with that. I would never dream of making anyone repay money they cannot afford. If I couldn't afford it I wouldn't have given him the money anyway.

I just really wanna puke when people like him get free money of BRM and then don't pay back what they owe. When they were the ones begging for help.

I will still help people where I can and when I can, but people like him, I will make sure they never get another cent of anyone on here, because being honest, I have a very well paid job, others are not so lucky, and $10 to me isn't much. $10 to some people is a lot of money...

Oh the irony...

He's now complaining because someone he lent money to hasn't paid him back.

I am loving it.. Karma is a right bitch...

He borrows money off me, refuses to repay it, then complains because someone he lent money to doesm't pay him back..

I think we should all gang up on ANYBODY who asks for money or who has and hasn't payed it back in the past. Regardless of how many posts they have.
