Fake online dating service... does one have to pay for those things? i thought you only payed after the service was provided... as it seems things are a bit different nowadays... Anyway i think the fact that he is a poker pro in this case would be irrelevant since the case itself has nothing to do with poker ( we do know about some other poker pros doing poker scams for way more than this). Seemed to be profitable thou... probably greed took the best of him and now it's time to pay ( is lawyers at least).

Well, you might just start wondering how much of the 1.5 million in pokerwinnings, he has won legit. Multiple accounts wasn't the first thing that came up in my mind.

High-stakes poker player Masa Kagawa was one of a group of nine men arrested in Japan and charged with running an Android malware ring, as well as the operation of a scam dating website. Kagawa counts a third place in this year's Aussie Millions $100,000 event and a €100,000 EPT Monte Carlo final table among his tournament accolades

I never cease to be amazed at the amount of scammers there are on this Earth... Scamming, faking, embezzling, cheating, etc... everything from Girl Guide cookies to Rolex watches..
And in this day of the internet, you really have to watch what you do..... although, if you are of shady mind, and hang with shadies,...you deserve to get it yourself... The poker world is FULL of slippery creeps...

I guess not all poker players are morally flexible, but some of the best ones definitely are. Maybe it even makes them better players. Besides, being a gambler means you always need more money, so I'm not very surprised

If only that was true. When you read interviews with people that are covering the field, you see that those who get caught are obly the tip of the iceberg and most cheaters just get away with it...

The sad truth is that there are people in this world that only take pleasure of of screwing other people over. Such people will choose to choose the option that hurts the most people even if they can make more profit by helping others.

The sad thing is some people will try to use this story to show poker in a bad light when in reality it is completely unconnected to poker. He's also the president of an IT company, surely that is more relevant than him being a poker player.

You know what they say about gambling. "It's a hard way to make an easy living".
You are of course right but the media will go with the poker angle because it will keep their corporate masters happy.
