1 Man United 2 Chelsea 3 Arsenal 4 City 5 Swansea ( they'll be the surprise off the season) 6 Liverpool ( and I reckon without the serial biter. Did U know he did it before aswell, when he played in Holland)
I firmly believe Man City has the strongest selection, but dont think even with a new coach that they will come out as a team.
@ Pochui Newcastle wont be playing in the Premier League...they'll get moved to France as their whole team is French anyway...

It saddens me that in a principally poker forum so many of the most popular threads are football based. No other thread in the last week got more than 20 replies in less than 24 hours. I've got no problem with these threads existing but I would like to see more response and more effort go into threads discussing poker, poker hands and poker strategy.
Not a great football fan. I prefer other sports that are less boring, less monotonous, have a bit more complexity to them and have more than the odd few honorable sportsmen who have heads outside their own assholes.
But in the spirit of the thread... C'mon the Swans. I hope it will be a good season for them. They deserve to be finishing higher than last season. They've had a good start in europe but the real test is on Saturday. I think it's a safe bet to go with Man U.

I agree with what you say but its nearly the start of the new season and we love our football. Maybe create a thread about Poker discussion and get the ball rolling?

I do agree, but I'm like one of the only ones who posts hand histories, and then i get unnecessarily attacked for it. Which is why I haven't bothered recently. Plus i can't remember ever seeing YOU post a hand history.

ok since i started this thread i should also post my real predictions: i feel that this season it will gonna be a battle between chelsea and man city for the title, man utd seems like they are a bit off form and no significant new comers to freshen them up a bit. city have the best squad on paper, chelsea have best manager on paper (with previous experience & back to back titles in the premier league) - gonna be close one. 4th place- depends on few factors: whether spurs/liverpool are gonna get rid of pricey assets in bale/suarez respectively and how wisely they are gonna spend on improvements. arsenal have only one advantage- they are gelled well, other than that, it's gonna be a real struggle to keep up with pace...
i go for spurs 4th (with or without bale), liverpool 5th (if they get rid of Hannibal), arsenal 6th (close battle with liverpool for 5th)

Ok fair point. Maybe I should explain my comments. Whilst I do want more threads that discuss specific poker hands most of the hand histories I see here are bad beats which aren't interesting at all. When I said I wanted more threads discussing poker hands, what I meant was threads discussing interesting hands or hands that encourage debate. Posting the question "did I play this right" where the answer is clearly no is a start but certainly does not make a great thread.
That's not a criticism of your threads btw. I think anyone who posts their own hand history leaves themselves open to attack since they are usually making a point about their play that others will disagree with or they have their bad play scrutinized by those who don't always know better.
As for myself not making such threads, I haven't posted much recently partly as I have been busy and partly cos the forum is lacking in interesting threads and active forum members (this thread btw is actually a good thread - I wasn't knocking the thread, just a point about the forum) But if you look at my last but one thread you will see it is a hand history where I do attempt to start a discussion and it's different from most in that I'm criticizing my winning play. And before that I made lots of threads discussing poker, some of which were popular and others less so, but all were discussions we've never had in the forum before.
So to reiterate it's nice to see such an active thread. It's just a shame it's about football. Apologies to the OP for this tangent.

I pretty much agree. You do reply to hand histories etc. But still can't remember you ever posting anything asking people to analyse something of your game. Then in that other thread it seemed as if you were sort of provoking people into posting stuff to be tore apart. Which is a bit cheeky considering you never post anything about your game, and nobody is perfect. Nobody here i know of is a pro. Not saying everybody will agree with this but thats how i interpreted it.

Did I play this hand right?
Seriously though you should get the ball rolling by posting some hand/s which you want improvement on etc. Sadamman is right no one is a pro here, we are not 2+2.
Back on topic I am getting fed up with Newcastle. We need players but have only signed one player. Remy is only a loan and now he is injured to September. The sooner Ashley, Pardew and Kinnear are out of my club the better.

I'm amazed no one think United will win it... same squad that OWNED the league last year. If they don't win it, they'll be 2nd for sure...
Chelsea will be formidable with Mourinho back in the driving seat, but I'm not hugely impressed by any of their new signings. Man City have a great squad - but did have last year too and never even threatened to do well... Arsenal won't win the league - likely won't win a cup either - but they'll play the best attacking, entertaining football and finish top 4 (along with United, City and Chelsea FOR SURE. Criticism of Wenger IMO is ridicuolus - top 4 finish 15 years in a row, and in that time receiving more money from transfers than he's spent on players in... it's an unbelievable achievement.
My predictions in full:
1 Chelsea 2 Man United 3 Man City 4 Arsenal 5 Tottenham 6 Liverpool 7 Everton 8 Swansea 9 Newcastle 10 West Brom 11 Fulham 12 Southampton 13 Aston Villa 14 Sunderland 15 West Ham 16 Cardiff 17 Stoke 18 Norwich 19 Crystal Palace 20 Hull
Man City to win the FA Cup Liverpool to win the League Cup
...will be interesting to look back at this at the end of the season and see how I did

Posted by thefly131: I think XChelsea will win the champoinship this season as they have some of the best belgian players in their squad.
Watch out for Hazard, De Bruyne and Lukaku
Especially the first 2 are really the best...
Also look out for other great belgian players in the premier league such as Kompany, Fellaini, Mirallas,Dembele, Verthongen, Vermaelen, Benteke,...
I`m a fan of the new Belgian team. A LOT of great and also young players there. Since my own team can`t make it anywhere...EVER, I gotta find someone else to support as well, lol. Next year at the world cup, everyone has to watch out for Belgium. No team is gonna beat them easy. I really like Hazard and I really like Lukaku as well, but I`m really sad that they play for Chelsea. I can`t stand Chelsea. Before Abramovich Chelsea wasn`t winning s**t, but at least they were a respectable club. Abramovich is like a litte kid, one day you don`t win something, he fires you. So stupid.

Still not signed anyone apart from a loan deal for Loic Remy. Everyone should change their predictions for us to be in the relegation zones and with our manager, Kinnear and owner it won't be long until we are relegated again.

Here they gave with best odds Chelsea to win the championship. After that is Manchester City followed by Manchester United and Arsenal. Arsenal has 10 odds so i placed a bet with them for 5 euro

I like Arsenal but I think you just wasted 5 Euros. They are just not good enough to play at high level all year long. They still have a lot of money to spend this summer (70 Millions) and they're trying to get Roonie but I don't think it will be enough this season. Chelsea and City are just too strong.
