Just looking for thoughts on this hand and whether it was stupid or the right decision and he just donk lucked out. I had a feeling he was either on AJ-K or a flush draw and I had a small feeling I was ahead with that flop.

Poor play by villain... Mildly optimistic play by you.

If they were willing to call all-in on a flop after hitting nothing, then they have no reason not to shove all in pre-flop...

I would've probably put them on A8 after the reraise on the flop and would have likely folded and waited for a better spot... but you made the right play on this occasion, though I wouldn't think the same play with 6 6 in that situation would be positive EV in the long run.

------------
As for the second hand - it was sick, but you should never JUST call for a quarter of your chips preflop... if you're willing to call that much, put the rest in and make him make the expensive mistake instead of having a decision (or multiple decisions) after the flop.

Also... I wouldn't call a bet double the pot with one card to come with just a draw... You're never gonna be getting the right odds there.

I know the villain had more outs on the first one was a TAG so he would not play A8(I would hope) which is fair enough but the second one was a fish so I thought he had nothing and was trying to scare me with his bigger chip stack and I thought I had more outs so had to call. Do you think I should have played those hands differently?

Personally....

On the first hand I would have been more conservative, and the second a lot more aggressive.

The 6s I would've folded at the reraise on the flop and limit my losses to €0.90, knowing that if ANYTHING over a 6 comes off on the turn, it will be impossible to call another bet - and I wouldn't want to get all in on that flop, especially against a TAG player, because you're only REALISTICALLY get called by a hand that's way in front. The fact that in reality you were 65/35 fave is kinda irrelevant. You had no REAL way of knowing that.....

The AK I would've put him all in after his €1.90 raise - that play is only bad if the opponent has AA or KK. The way you played it, you gave him a shot at winning, and he struck lucky. Pushing preflop reduces his chance at a chance, if you know what I mean.

Although you've never really struck me as a 'rigtard' dude,...you did mention the word 'rigged'... Poker is PLAINLY a 'Game of Chance'... EVERYTHING involved with poker is pure chance...

You can bend it a little in your favour by bullying or bluffing,...but even then,...it's 100% chance that someone will respond to your move or action favourably for you...

I don't know if I'd invest too much with a pair of 6s to begin with,...but like 'you' said.... It was 'optimistic'... I would be more inclined to have played the other guys hand JUST the way HE did... Smile

On the first hand the villain has no idea about poker really, i mean going all in on that flop without having a pair at least it's just stupid...

On the other hand in your place i would not go all in with just a pair of sizes, there i would have put the villain on a overpair frankly.
