French customs officials seized a painting by Pablo Picasso, which tried to smuggle to Switzerland. The painting "The head of a young woman» (Head of a Young Woman) worth 27.4 million dollars belongs to 79-year-old Spanish banker Jamie Botenu. It is reported by The Guardian. By the decision of the Spanish court, the picture can not be exported outside of the kingdom.
Customs officers discovered the work of the artist on the boat moored at the island of Corsica. According to the publication, the ship is owned by the finance and credit companies Grupo Santander, vice-chairman of which was formerly Boten. Banker himself was not on board.
