I was thinking I could small bet each street when I have a great hand but they have a draw so if they did hit their draw I would lose less, but if they miss by the river I would have still made a profit. Then again wouldn't doing that be bad odds for me since they would call more?

Posted by Arithmajik: Well, like everybody I hate when my winning hand gets outdrawn. My solution is to calmly make a note of that player as they can't calculate pot odds and they'll pay me more often then they win.
If you had the chance to make a note on them and mark him/her as a straight or flush chaser you should make bigger bets. A pot bet or an overbet if you now that they will not fold. The pot odds will be against them and you will make some more money when they didn't hit their flush or street.
That's what I was implying. I don't give chasers good odds, so when it happens I make note that they're willing to play hands out of their favour, which is where the money is. They just give it away bit by bit.

Playing cash tables with the low BR I have left and 4/5 times someone has chased a flush draw when I have had a great hand they have hit it. When people say you never hit a flush much when constantly chasing they are talking crap. Trying to salvage what little BR I have left.

If I get a suited ace or king,...there's nothing more I like than to get a flush draw,....same thing goes for an opportunity with an opened ended straight draw! I seem to be VERY lucky when it comes to filling out either,...but in particular,...the ace or king high flush! I figure you just have to takes your chances and see it all the way through to the river!
On the other hand,....I see there's an awfull lot of folks who will play ANY suited cards trying to nail that flush,....and THAT is an awfully hard and UNLIKELY thing to do pre-flop.

The thing is you can have a set on the flop, usually the best hand at that stage and one card later some ballbag has a flush and has you all but crushed. Even with trips or a set on a flush flop I'm hating someone who is shoving AI at that stage.
OESD shoves are fine depending on the situation - you can't get pissed at everyone who hits it, lots of outs and if its a OSED+FD then you're likely losing the pot.

I was only pissed because I had only a few buy ins left and until each river I was making profit. It happens and if I had enough buy ins I would have been fine. I still hate them against me.

Do you think I played this right? Or should I have bet half his remaining stack on the turn hoping he would not push all in and hope the river did not produce that flush card.

I know he had a short stack and his first call justified, but every time I get into this situation with a short stack chasing I know they are going to hit it since they have nothing to lose with the last small money they have left to call. I took it rather well for once as usually I would get mad but I just laughed and shrugged it off.

Whats the odds of hitting an ace on the river for a straight when you donk on the flop? Because I am seeing it all the time and just had it against me. Fair enough the guy had more odds than me to hit a higher card to win, but one out of 4 aces in the deck and he has to hit that one card. Yeah okay.
------------ Just had two flushes in a row against me. This s**t is getting annoying now. I wonder how much in love games you see flushes? Every few hands there is a flush or straight draw its unnatural.
