G'day mate
I was not able to get poker tracker 4 to work on my computer. The problem was it requires postgreSQL. Trying to get it to work on this laptop let me feeling stupid. I am thinking about trying to get it up and running on my desktop within the next few weeks. I have watched some poker training videos where the instructors were using poker tracker 4 and I liked the information it was showing them. So I was thinking I would try again to give it a go. be cool mate

Yes the laptop was purchased in May 2013, brand new from future shop. It is now December 2013, so yes for a computer it is ancient The desktop was built to be a very high end gaming computer in 2010 and at the time it was top of the line. Even by today's standards most guys I know consider my desktop an awesome machine. If it was a car it would be a 2010 Lamborghini or a Ferrari It really was built to smoke every game that was out there on the market, It had an upgrade done in 2012 which once again put it ahead of the curve Right now my desktop is a paper weight as the hard drive has died. Waiting for a friend to come by this evening with a new drive and we will look at doing another upgrade to a couple components. Right not I do not know of a single game which I can not run on my desktop. Well enough about my baby. I just played a session of poker and I lost $17.
My new bankroll is $7.69 USD
No excuses, I played a very bad round of cards. I am disgusted with my poor play. I did everything wrong imaginable. best wishes to you all be cool

Well I play above my bankroll. So I broke the rules once again to try and take a short cut. I played on the 0.25/0.50 NL tables a few times and lost a few bucks then dropped down to the 0.10/0.25 NL tables and lost another $15 when I had an Ace King suited. The guy on the table who was a total calling station just would not fold any hand before the river. I bet on every street and he just kept calling. In the end I shoved all in on the river when there was a flush possible. He called with a pair of pocket 2's with a five over cards on the board and a flush option and I bet every street and all in on the river and he called with a pair of 2's. I lost $15 in that one hand to a pair of 2's. How the hell could someone call in that situation with a single pair of 2's I will play again later and start grinding properly again. be cool

Ronin I have to say I am disappointed that you went to play higher limits than your bankrolll allows you to... And like you said, your play probably wasn't that good...I guess you didn't have any history with this guy .. I mean I rarely triple-barrel against an unknown opponent... and if you did have history then you should've known he is not going to fold anything .. and you should not bluff him not even on scary boards... But I know sometimes these things just happen... you just lose the focus and start playing bad... GL on rebuilding you bankroll again, I know you can do it if you just keep playing your A-game... (I hope my post doesn't look too negative )
Hi Ronin, I think with the year you have had outside of poker, although not an excuse, is certainly a contributing reason to the unattainably in this season of your lofty goal, next step is to re-address those things that affect your poker and place certain rules on yourself (and stick to them this time) around ensuring you get enough rest, eat right, do not play stoned, do not play above your level, get some exercise if possible and look for some free money, with this in mind a new goal is to be set for the end of 2014. My suggestions are; 1. Cash out your money from PS. 2. Deposit $20 with the code 100K 3. Play as many 100K tournaments as possible. 4. Win a couple of round 1 tickets and play the round 2's for some free cash. 5. Play more MTT's especially, non turbo, small buy-ins and added value tournaments, this will give you more time to play good poker and get a reasonable ROI. 6. Once you get to $40 or more, you can play 01/02 cash games, take the max to the table, around 100BB or $2, which is 5% of total bank roll, even if the table is "juicy" set a limit, say 100% i.e. as soon as your stack gets to over $4, play conservatively, sit out next BB and cash out, conversely if you lose any stack top it up so you are never short stacked and miss out on value, set a limit on the amount you can top up, around another $2 should be OK. 7. You need approximately $150 to safely go to 02/05 and apply the same logic/discipline as above. 8. Within a moth or so chrome star should be there or there about, play the chrome free roll. 9. Treat the FPP's as a source of free cash and with respect, 10FPP tournaments are a bit of a lottery, try the sit and go step satellites, if you win these, you can convert to a ticket and earn even more FPP's. 10. Set smaller, more achievable goals, month to month, something like; End of Jan $20 to $60, End of Feb $60 to $180, End of Mar $180 to $450 etc., and do not stress about it, therefore do not push so much to try to attain, it will come at it's own pace with good poker and (as per this thread) solid bank roll management. 11. and final, and I do hope this point is needed sooner rather than later, when you have a good win, go up one level only (either MTT or cash) and only when you have crushed that level, move up one more, try to balance the risk %'s vs your current playing level, drop back down sooner if required to keep the var and risk's in balance at all times.
Hope this helps.
BTW my goal's for 2014 is all bar one, non poker based, my poker and my bank roll pretty much take care of themselves, I will be playing about the same amount of poker at a slightly higher level for most of the year and finish the year playing the Auckland ANZPT, which will be my first real live tournament ever.
Best wishes as always.

------------ Oopps forgot one... Do not rely on the HUD's they are a false tell trap, as a out of date guide they add little value, much better to interpret and play your natural poker based on the most recent evidence, you should not be on any table long enough to add any value at all, crush one table and move on, if sat at a tight table - pick up sticks, find another table where there is some action, crush it and move on. etc etc.

C'mon Ronin, I'm sure you can get up and build up a nice bankroll.
I think the advices that 3pokeronly has gave to you are pretty good. You need to keep bankroll management because variance might lead you to bankrupcy.
I would add to the 3pokeronly suggestions that if you want to get the promo for the 100K tournaments at PokerStars you can not cash out, or the promo will be removed from your user.

wueeej seems like your goal was very optimistic Ronin You know I wish you only best of luck man but you should probably take some advices which 3pokeronly gave to you
Seems like you are losing player in cashgame for now. I would recommend to check your hand history and find your biggest leaks. I am sure you will find out where you made some mistakes and do not repeat them in future. Its very unlikely that its only because of badluck in 3 months of play.
You should also consider to start play more MTTs and SNGs and less cashgame. Maybe your gaming style will fit that much better.
BTW Ronin you inspired me, I am gonna make my own blog about grinding, cause I started like 2 months before to play some SNGs, it will be easy to check my progress

Posted by starbay: ronin unlucky mate but some people will not put their hand down, must have been a russian
haha not the only one hating russians!
And I agree with Weenie maybe and if you wanna keep playing cash you could try to read some stuffs on the internet etc! Myself I suck in cash, but SNG I find them pretty easy to play with the same easy strategy, depending of course on the opponent But I think on low limits I think its hard to have any reads, most of the people is doing anything and everything

Nice increase mate from your last bankroll. Just stay away from those higher stakes this time and you can start grinding and crushing the stake your on.
