Just finished in the $25 Free roll on FT.
Down to the last 25, I was about 20th so getting short) I get A,T hearts. Villain raises x3, I re-raise, he puts me all in and I call.

Turn cards and he has A,T spades.

Which one of us hit a flush?

You have three guesses. Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

I got one way worse for you.

7700$ tournament at Poker 770. The prizes start att 100$, and we are almost there. I have a huge stack, and there's only one player at the table that covers me. He is chipleader, and I have like 75 % of his stack.

I pick up AA.

He raises.

I reraise.

He is all in.

I call.

He has got A9!

A9!!

I realise I just might win this m/f of a tournament.

Guess who gets a straight on the last card?

Aww crap! Aww crap!

i have 26 off-suit under the gun, it's bubble time- i see one guy raising in front of me, then button re-raises...big blind goes all-in, i have no other choice (i have deep stack) but to go all-in myself...fcukin jokerstars- one more guy calls, turns out i'm up against AA and KK- real bullsh1t i'm telling u, this is so rigged...what do u know i lose on the river, damn it no respect for 26 off Disagree

That's it^. Stick it AI because otherwise you're getting called by some marginal hands and not folding other hands that might fold, like A10.

That's plain unlucky all the same, its a chop a huge percentage of the time.

I made a similar mistake not going AI recently. Had QQ under pressure, blinding down. 3x raised instead of shoving as I still had chips behind me should a horrible flop come down like A or K. BB calls. Comes down 6hQh8c - I shove it all obviously, don't want him catching a flush. He calls without hesitation. Shows KQclubs - perfect. Not even hearts. I'm picturing a solid cash as I'm in 10th spot as it stands with 10 left. What happens? Runner runner clubs and I'm spat out the tourney. Sickener. But this wasn't the spot for me to 3x raise. I should have gone AI from the off and kq has to fold.

I just don't know why people would play freerolls differently than any other tourneys. The pockets are no different, the flop is no different,...any cards involved are no different...

Some guy said to me at a table.... "It's the way you play freerolls"

I'd like to see in any book about poker where it says THAT...

It's like this....

People respect and take care of their own private property or things that they've paid for...

...but lot's of folks don't respect or take care of other people's things,....or public property Thumbs Down

It happens. I have lost a couple of time like that. But it remember winning like that also
with AK vs AK. Not to mention how many times i have bubbled in tournaments so far.

Happens all the time, it will balances out in the long term, this is variance lol.

My bet is that he hit the flush and you busted on the 25th place??

Push is the right play if you getting short on stacks, if you had a bigger stack better to save up for later and wait for premiums because you can afford to!

Whats important at the end of the day is that you played the hand correctly!

If you indeed lost the hand at least you know that you did not make a mistake and only variance is to blaim.

pochui: I don't belive your story, partly because you are under the gun, but still someone manages to make a raise before you, but mostly because everyone that has ever played onlinepoker knows that 26 off ALWAYS wins against AA and KK. That's like... basic.

Come on...

well spotted Pjot- i meant some dude raised behind me...anyways, i've been taught by the best poker pros (paid really heavy for the coaching & couching) that 26 off is 99% fav against any poker hand, especially when played utg...that's why i'm telling you it was such a horrible bad beat...fcukin jokerstars...damn that magic river

it's always hard to get knocket out of the tournament if you're close to the money.
But those things also happen in "normal" tournaments and cash games

You only have to consider one thing: did I play the hand correctly, considering chip stack and your opponent(s).

If you played the hand right well don't be too disappointed, don't go on tilt and play on.
If you think that you made a mistake, well try not to make the same mistake again.

You haven't told us which was his hand, but i think you should have went all-in after his raise. Either he called and you lose in the same or you could have gave him that shake that could make him fold and you would have won a nice pot taking in consideration you were short stacked. But at least you got to the prizes!
