rake and how do you get it  0
i was playing on 888 poker and lost a few quid and was on to support about the number of points i had got which was very little for the money i lost, the only thing they said was that the points are awarded to the value of the pot like 1 -2 dollars being a point, now i was playing for several hours on 10c-20c tables and some of the pots were over a hundred dollars and i still got very few points and all they would tell me was its the rake, but how do i get a chance to get any of this rake money, any ideas or answers mobsters cos its got me confused.

you don't get any rake money, you get points according to how much the rake is, and it doesn't matter if the pots go over 1 hundred , because all sites have a maxium rake, also it doesn't matter how much the pot or rake is if your not in the hand at the end of the hand. you only get points for the ones your in at the end. hope this helps.

Some poker sites do a rakeback bonus system as well as points so you need to look out for them. They are well worth having though as its extra income you can make on what you have already made.

a few quid

How much is a quid...? Seriously,.....How many quid can you buy with one U.S. dollar...?

I remember when I was a little 5-6 year old kid in the mid '60s when we lived in England all the names of the various coins...

Ha-penny
Penny
Tuppenny or tuppence
Thruppence
Sixpence

I used to buy a Cadbury Flaky chocolate bar for a thrupence... Big Smile

There was also some sort of sherbet powder with a licorice dip-stick in it,...but I don't remember the cost of that... Smile

to get sth back from the rake you either:
get/have a some sort of a rakeback deal either through some affiliate site or with the poker room directly.
use the points you got by playing to convert them to cash or any equivalent of it (i.e. buy-in directly with points into tourney instead of cash)

Some sites, on the Ipokernetwork and I am sure elsewhere too, only grant you points for the money you actually put in to the pot. So, if you limp in, fold, and the pot gets to be three trillion billion dollars, you only get ponits for the 20 c you limped in with.

Earlier they had a system that gave you points just for sitting at the table. This caused that they got a lot of tight players just playing premium hands and cashing in a lot of points.

The world changes all the time, got to change with it...

If you want a good rakeback i think it's better to move from 888 poker. Some i-poker skins have a good deals.

Yeah as mentioned I think you should be happy they are not taking more rake. Rakeback is a bonus do not think of it when you play poker, you should just improve your game and move up the limits then you can start thinking of rakeback as it will becomes more important.

I would recommend to hunt for rakeback when you reach NL50 or more.

Some deals i know if you want rake back is on 24h poker and unibet.

Also there are maximum rake as mentioned, so if you at Nl50 it is easy to get rake easily for each pot.

Anyway cheers and good luck in your poker journey!!

You must pay rake and get points every time you play real money games like cashgames, sng´s and tourneys. You can see your payments in your hand and game history. Make a screenshot and send it to the 888 support, than they can help you.

Those points on 888 poker are very hard to make, something similar to party poker points.

For points you should try stars or ftp, there you can make them fast. You can also tranform points into dollars on 888, the min are 1k points.

The Prequel:
Farthing - had disappeared by your time = Ha'penny / 2
Ha-penny
Penny
Tuppenny or tuppence never existed until decimalization in 1972
Thruppence
Sixpence - also known a tanner
The Sequel:

Bob = sixpence x 2
Two bob - guess Smile
Half Crown = Two bob + a tanner
Crown - also gone by your time

That was the Sherbet Dib Dab also known as a Sherbet Fountain. IIRC they were a Penny (maybe tuppence).

If you bit the ends off of the dip-stick it was hollow and you could use it to suck up the Sherbet. Two problems 1. the first suck was always too hard and the Sherbet would hit the back of your throat and make you choke. 2. After the 3rd or 4th the end of the tube would get blocked by spittle soaked Sherbet and become useless.

Great fun though.

Yeah they designed it mainly for recreational players, so for recreational players it will be hard for them to get the points.

Still I fancy 888 sport, you should have an account there, the field is really soft, you can transfer your roll onto sports book if you have a feeling on a team, pokerstars, full tilt does not have this option. Just poker lol.

For party poker i hear they are getting rid of lots of bonuses and many negative things happening there, so i would not recommend signing up there if you a winning player, there are more trusted site that you can play on!

Heskor, you are mainly right but the rake taken by the site is a part of their development strategy.

The number of promotions on 888 is huge compared to other sites and if you add up the fact that the have less payers it's clear that they need to get more rake to support that plus a profit for them.
