Wow... 4 betting 72s, just for a possible $0.25 bonus?

I know that this 7-2 boom promotion is interesting, but after so much strength being shown, you might have lost more then you'll ever make with that promotion...

Glad it worked out for you, but the odds were not in your favor...

B.t.w. there is a pokerschool link in the 7-2 boom promotion page, with an explanation, on how to adjust your pot odds calculation, for this bonus-situation...

i see this promotion running whenever i log into jokerstars client, but never really bother to check what it's all about- maybe someone would give me a short review of this promo, is it worth checking out?
congrats snippy with your win- brm'ers rule the online tables

It's just a promo to boost the player's awareness of boom I think. If you win a hand with 72s and you share it on boom, you get a bonus of 1BB for every player at the table.

In the above example xgcsnippy, got an extra $0.25 bonus.

The trick is though, to simply add this bonus amount to the pot, and base your pot odds calculations, on this larger pot.

Even if you don't participate, it's good to know, some of your opponents might...

Here's one I won yesterday with a standard raise and c-bet: http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/5191239_C3E8...

thanks for the info marqis Thumbs Up
not much really in it, but if u happen to bluff, then doing this with 72 might be a better spot then before

Bluffing in this spot is not that bad, depending on the read you have on the other players. It is not that uncommon for someone in late position to be raising to steal the blinds, not that uncommon for the sb to reraise sensing that it is a steal, but I don't know if I would have shoved in your place. Better to 3bet the sb and if he shoves pull back, cause if he is not bluffing you are likely to lose that pot. Worked out for you anyways. Worship

Okay, lets say you make it $1.80, instead of the all in. So you're risking $1.80 for a $0.67 pot, this means that they need to fold at least 3 out of 4 times for this to be profitable.
Do you really think he'll be re-stealing 75% of the time?
What am I missing here?

The $0.25 bonus makes your play more attractive, but the assessment whether it was a steal and re-steal, remains the same.

I think, your losses are bigger than your winnings to see a showdown with 7-2 suited preflop or so. But if you hit at the flop, you have a big chance to win a big pot + the promo bonus. It´s a nice promo for gambler.

jokerstars is trying to tell me we needed to see the flop....f**k, they treat me like a bum on the street panhandling....

we will see if I get anything at all...

Just play the hand like you used too, that is you fold it lol.

No seriously just raise it as a suited connectors or for blind steal in late position and you should get the bonus, even though it is a bad hand to play.

You know you dont need to see the river to win the bonus, just raise and if they fold preflop you still win the bonus from what I read, or am i wrong here. But i am pretty sure that if you make them fold preflop you are entitled for the bonus !!

So yeah just use the 72s as a steal and if they bet and you dont have a good flop just conti bet and then fold the turn. Smile

Good luck, i am not participating since i busted my roll hehe!!

I would have laughed if you got called for that steal. Fair play though it was a good steal but I would have not done it.
