I like the movie "Runner Runner" very much and I think this is quite the real truth. I think this movie is talking about PokerStars! Do you know why?
Because in the beginning PokerStars had a license from Costa Rica. In the beginning, their offices were in Costa Rica.
The second evidence that this film is made for the truth of PokerStars is that the owner and the emplyees of that online poker site at the end of the movie move to Antigua and Barbuda. They move to another ofshore zone, like PokerStars did! It would be too obvious in the film if they move to Isle of Man, that is why I think they wanted to move to Antigua and Barbuda.
The third evidence that this movie is crated for Rational Enterprises Limited is whan the FBI started to investigate to company! As you already know FullTilt Poker was investigated by FBI in 2011.
Full Tilt Poker is an online poker card room that opened in June 2004 with the involvement of poker professionals Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Andy Bloch, Mike Matusow, Jennifer Harman and Chris Ferguson.
In the movie poker players were working at the Costa Rica office!
So, I recommend you to watch "Runner Runner" and to see the real story of PokerStars!
I think the idea of making this movie is to protect the online players and tell them the truth about the online gambling!

I'm sorry, it was pretty clearly an amalgamation of a few online sites - FTP with it's Ponzai Scheme, Stars with Costa Rice and a couple other details, UB/AP with the super-user scandal (cheating at start of the movie).
At any rate, if you LIKED that movie.. that's pretty sad, you would be hard pressed finding a single good review about it across the whole Internet.. It was a complete flop of a movie, with absolutely no substance at all.. I wanted to like it, I really did. But it was complete rubbish. If you honestly like that movie, then you're very easily impressed/amused, because the movie had absolutely no value to it at all, my fiancée actually walked out of it, half way through.

If you believe that, you're incredibly naive.. It had some loose parallels with things that have happened in real life, but the story-line was entirely fictional, it definitely wasn't the 'real story of PokerStars'.

This thread is not about the Movie !!!.....but do you really belive that, if one - well known - software could have a super users account, the all other don't have it ????? Come on !!! Lets be realistic.

Considering that the reason we KNOW that UB/AP had super-users is because it became apparent in the hand history and the play-community got together and uncovered the cheating.. it's actually more reasonable to assume that it ISN'T happening on any other MAJOR poker rooms, since the same patterns (that occur when people cheat like this) aren't emerging on these other platforms. The cheaters results were so many standard deviations from the actual expected outcome, it was obvious the cheating was occurring.. It's basically the main reason we know major sites aren't rigged; you can't actually cheat/rig the software, without it being detectable in a large enough sample of HH.. If it was happening, you could pretty much guarantee some of the sharper 2+2 members would collaborate and expose it; remember - these are very intelligent guys, playing for tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars- if they notice anything unusual, you can bet they'll investigate it and put their minds together to expose the truth.
That said - I wouldn't be the least surprised to hear about super-users on the tiny-little poker rooms that spring up here and there, in fact I'd almost be surprised if they weren't cheating.

jessthehuman, you are writing exactly the same way like the Help Desk Agents of PokerStars. I have the emails of PokerStars and they explain the same way like you did. Are you really working for the Rational Enterprises Limited? I mean the way how you protect PokerStars is a little bit suspicious! Don't you think?
