aye it's never been as a money spinner for me (probably because i'm not very good ) i started playing for the fun and it's continued like that, sometimes you get a decent payout and it makes it all worthwhile and it's very funny reading all the chat when people get angry at others.

To supplement my income. And I have. I do way better live than I did online. When online though I was at onetime a sponsored player. Now I like playing for myself. Do not have to answer to someone who wants you at a time and in a game you do not really want to be in, do not have your play questioned, do not have to worry that something is going on that would compromise your morals etc.
I started out just playing for fun and then heard the word freeroll!!! I said what is a freeroll?

I ignored Poker for years only noticing it because I played Chess and the Chess books kept on shrinking on the bookshelfs but the Poker books kept expanding. Wish I had got on at the start of the boom in 2003 or just before, instead of a couple of years ago.

Well, to be honest before I was thinking that poker is very difficult game and I will never understand the rules of that game. But thanks to the destiny, I had the opportunity to work for some poker companies (I told this in some of my previous posts) and they teached me and trained me how to play, what are the rules. When I knew everything about this game I started to play because I was curious.
Of course I play poker, because I hope someday to win something big! But I just play poker. I am not interested into any casino gambling games. Never played them and I don't know how to play it and I find the casino games more dangerous.
The good thing of poker is that it is a combination between luck, skills, mathematics, risk and gambling. All these elements combinated together are making the game of poker very interesting and attractive.
When I will stop playing poker? When I hit at least $500 000 and I will enjoy my life!

i wanted to become rich quick...i though i will crush everyone and make millions on a yearly basis... it turns out i was wrong a little bit, so i ended up playing freerolls for a few cents. i think poker is a great hobby to have- you need little equipment to get started, it gives you something to talk about, when there is nothing to talk about...

Exactly, as pochui said I wanted to become rich very quickly as well, but unfortunately it doesn't work like that. For 4 years I lost total $1500. And I won almost nothing. I guess I won total: $300, mostly cash games.

A few years ago we had a poker boom via tv in Germany. And at this time there are a lot of nice Bonus offers in online poker. But now, the marked is overloaded and the promos so nice like in the past.
because i LOVE this game , because i think that i can know when somebody is really bluffing and because i'm patient player not all iner. I want to play freerolls , and try to make something from nothing. GL

My dad R.I.P...used to show us kids and adults card tricks/magic lol when i was a kid 4-5+yrs old ..from there ive done the same as dad showing tricks dad never gambled on cards only horses a little and dominoes..As for me i never put them cards down still walk with a pack most of the times.
i played all the most popular home card gamess we grew up with and some Jamaican varients.
At high schoool we set up an illegal gambling club lol, very serious way back the, but it spread all over the school and they gave up most times and just confiscated the cards, we all carried cards back then so no probs gameon..lol gambling in breaks in the bike sheds and toilets at youth club on car bonets on pavements on bins lol
This went on for 3+ yrs and they confisciated over 100+ packs of cards from when ever we were caught, our inner city school was a little vegas gambling hive haha..when the headmaster retired our gambling gang chipped in and presented him a hand-carved wooden case with 2 packs of sealed cards inside..lol
Then after school 3+ yrs in the merchant navy saw over 30 countries and gambled with the hardest players ever, who had money to burn and know where to go while at sea..serious times i came out a winner tho.was back in 1980 that..then it was the horses until on;ine poker came along in and WSOP moneymaker, i was doing home games by then 2007-10.
full Tilt original freeroller player kicked it up made many friends now pokerstars mainly. Great times & experience..nice thread Phisix it brought it all back.. gg all

I got into playing poker, and joined BRM, specifically for the laughs.
You wouldn't believe it but there's some guy who plays on PS and is a member of BRM who keeps getting bad beats.
I sit in front of my PC peeing myself with laughter at his plaintive bad beat stories. He keeps going on about how his AA, KK, QQ, JJ, or whatever got cracked by a donk.
Laugh a minute.
Mind you, I know how he feels. Keeps happening to me too. It's just that I don't go on about it.
