Played this tourney today. Got pocket aces, raised preflop...
Flop was 7 2 4 , raised on flop russian called, turn was 6 raised alot this time russian called... River was 8 raised again and he went all in... Guess what he had. 8 4 offsuit
I am pissed at them and their idiotic playing. Calling with 8 4 offsuit what an morron.
And of course I got busted after that.
I hate them. I never saw good russian player, they are all idiots. Only good russian is on Stars from Team Pstars Tatiana Barausova

When I have pocket aces I just shove every time without thinking about doing so, if I did think about it I would put in a big raise get called with sh-ite and beat say 2 pair or better, by shoving straight away you are totally in front pre flop, you will have most folding if not all, I would prefer to win just the blinds than giving others a chance to hit on flop cheaply, get it all in straight away and just dont think about it do it.

Bulgarians love Russian people. We have the same culture and traditions, we speak similar languages, we have the same alphabet. I work with a lot of Russians in the summer. They are very nice people. We are brother countries.
But when I have to talk about poker, especially live poker games, my opinion is little bit different. When I played live poker this summer, there was a player fom Russia sitting next to me. He is a very nice person, but I was very curious about the Russian play, so we talked a lot between the hands.
I don't know how to say it, but he was always bluffing, waiting for the magic river. Most of the times he had high card or one pair. Just for one hour this guy lost more than EUR300 at the table.
I don't know may be he is very rich, and just having some fun, but his play was very strange. That guy was older than me and I expected a serious poker play from him.
There was another Russian player at our poker table, a young man (20 years old) but he played really very well. I was very surprised. He played very tight. Never bluffing, and always was playing untill the river with monster hands. He was observing all the reactions of the players, their gestures, body language, face expressions etc. He knew when to stop. He knew when to leave the table. He won good money and he left.
This Russian was really a good player. But the others, the older Russians were completely disastre. They lost a lot of money, playing very ridiculous.
These are my expressions from the Russian poker players at the live games.

Live is very different from online, but as I can even in live poker there are "amazing" russians lol...
I never played against russian live, but as I can see on tv or some stream when I am watching they aren't so bad, but at online they are just idiots.
1. Going all in on every cards 2. Raising pot on every cards they have 3. Calling every cards even they are junk 4. Same as 1. just to say bing o players
As I said only Tatiana is ok at stars, but she is on team stars so that doesnt count...
If I raised all in on pocket aces preflop (this I am only doing if I don't have much chips) he would still called with 8 4, because he is russian. Difference from all in preflop and calling all time is that I wouldnt care if I did that and lost of 8 4, even you have pocket aces you are still playing b ingo preflop on that...

sorry to say this: but this is complete bullsh1t, utter bullsh1t, uber bullsh1t, crappy nonsense and complete inability to shave your balls in 80's style - said this several times: u do want you aces to get called don't you whenever u raise with AA's or go all in- you always dream of getting a caller, maybe even a couple...so, u do get one- what's the problem...u ain't gonna win every hand with AA's, but those who call u with 84o do increase you long term winning rate...

Russia has produced some of the GREATEST classical music composers, scientists, writers, athletes, etc...
They have also produced some of the worlds worst mass murderous dictators... Stalin, Lenin...
They have produced some great poker players too...
...but I have to agree with Arty.... When it comes to PokerStars,....it's absolutely FULL of shallow-foreheaded, knuckle dragging idiots who CONSTANTLY play absolute CRAP and win,....and it's VERY irritating...
....and it's NOT racist for Arty to be calling them names. Russia is NOT a race,....it's a multi-cultural society made up of MANY races,.....Caucasians, Arabs, Asians...etc.... There's even BLACK dudes there.... So the 'racist' thing doesn't apply...
Sure,....you would think you want folks to play crap so YOU will win,....but in a game of 100% chance, you throw in your chips, play your cards, and hope for the best.... ANYTHING can happen in poker...

Try to drink a bottle of vodka and play skilly after it......you are often playing vs. drunk Russian with pumped EGO who thinks like that: " You think I don't call your raise ? I've balls bigger than your head, watch this ..." And if he hits the magic river, he is convince, this is the only way to play and he will do that all the time.

Hi, from what i read on what happened, I think it is unfair that this happened to you. It is a bad way to get out of the tournament. If i were you, I would analyses the hand further.
Also make a note that he is ready to stack off with two pairs on the turn and most people will raise on the turn (going all in ) if only they have the nuts, could be sets, straight, two pairs etc.
Also if you mini raised with AA preflop and got several callers, you did it wrong as you let them get to the flop cheap and if you bet small on the flop you gave him odds to continue and he hit something.
Basically what I mean is check if you played the AA properly, if yes, then it is bad luck!
Well, seems this theme would be incomplete without me)) I think your game in this case was really fishy. I don't have enough information about your bets size etc. but I can give you some advises: 1. If you hold AA, don't slowplay. Be extremely aggressive against loose aggressive players 2. If your opponent called your bet after flop, then be careful. Think about his hand. Try to read. (do the same at turn and river) In this case: turn - 7246 => you has just a pair ! You opponent called your bet. You have only 1 pair and 2 aces in deck, which could give you a set. He could have straight. As you can see, you are the fish.
3. Improve your strategy and don't cry when you lose.

Yes there are many eastern european players who play this way.. they are reckless and play ridiculous hands, so that means they are gonna lose big in the long term.
...have to agree here...they're just like you n me at the end of the day. look at it this way if Brunson can win a WSOP main event with 10 2 suited, then why not 8 4 off?...one can win on any given day with any hand....mind you either of these isn't in my starting range. It's hard not to be results orientated when this happens. When losing a hand makes no sense and neither does the hand range. What has helped me in these situations was learning the stages of grieving a loss. Tend to try to reach the apathy stage ASAP...which leads to the final stage...laughter...have gotten really good at it and now hardly tilt. BTW if one is going to hate...hate everybody...that way one can't be labelled a racist
