Pokerstars Big Stack Advantage.  -1
I am playing Pokerstars SnG today doing fairly well getting a good lead in the game having got maximum value out of the NUTS 2 time in a row from those nice fishies!!! Smile

I'm thinking 'Wow' this is great. A couple of hands pass with nothing worth going past pre-flop. Then this hand comes:

Obviously with these guys going all-in my A3s is very week and i would be crazy to call this!
When i saw there card i though 'thanks god i didn't call against AA and AK' i wouldn't of had a chance!!
But by some miracle those sexy 3s pop up Shock Doh!!! Confused

What make kinda annoyed about this hand is i kinda knew Pokerstars was going to give me this miracle out against the shorter stacks because i have seen this pattern of play before! But i though NO just play good poker don't take advantage of the situation!!! lol my Doh!! Aww crap!

Why does Pokerstars seem to give big stacks the advantage???

Indeed and that's why strokerstars have taken the enjoyment out of poker for me. Happens so often.

It's something that does not happen only at PoserStars lol

Weird. i have my doubts. If its true and they have got a certain pattern. As far as i know there is no real proof. One thing is for sure. When im goin to play poker in the future i will not play at pokerstars but at another site Blink Good luck at the tables and wish you the best

Honestly i dont see anything special about this.. Not the first time i would hit trips with a crappy hand if i played it so pre-flop you made the right call. If you did got involved in the hand you would be cursed at for sure lol, still, nothing impossible there if you ask me. Aces were all dealt and both Kings and 3s had 3 outs...

About big stack protection i also have to disagree and if you think a bit more about this i think you'll see im right also. "Selective memory" is why you make that statement. I also remember best the times a big stack won with a worst hand against me but even yesterday for example i saw 3 donk big stacks in 3 different tables falling out of the money even thou they had a giant lead just a few hands before.

You take more chances when you r sure to survive an hand ( you said it yourself you almost called that hand just because you could no matter it was an A3) and mathematically speaking no 2 cards r dead cards pre-flop so some players who dont care about chances sometimes do call regardless.

^What this man said.

I know its easy to think there is a pattern of BS beating out SS but what about all the times a SS goes AI with Q5o and wins against KK or something to that effect.

The thing is SS have fewer chances to beat the BS because they don't have the chips and mathematically the probability of survival is less I think due to the chip advantage of the BS.

So lets say a random sample of SS goes AI 15x. That's 15 chances of being dumped out every time you lose.
Factor in that the BS calling range is wider generally, and the hand YOU need to go AI with in theory actually needs to be very good to stand a good chance of keeping you in a tournament, so although A4s is a shoving hand, you're getting looked up by a huge range from a BS trying to knock you out.

It may happend but i'm almost sure that this does not happen all the time, i mean if you think you got this pattern then try to exploit it but you'll see that is not always valid.

The truth is that the chip leader of the table can and tends to play more hands and of course that from time to time it also hits lucky hands like this one.

Macubaas, lets say that he is right about this theory.
How is he going to exploit this when they have bigger stacks.
Not that he will have more than one chances Smile.
Since its the chip leader he/she is not getting lucky from time to time Smile but lots more.

Do not get to excited that you won a hand with lower chances to be won.I think is the part of the program"Let the new comers to win win no matter what a few hands",and after they gain confidence, bumm their bankroll explode and a REFILL IS THE NEXT MOVE.Good luck with your strategy

I'm thinking that if you are seeing patterns,....somebody has slipped some LSD-25 into your coffee...

As mentioned above,...nothing irregular about that hand... To think it's rigged in the favour of big stacks is ridiculous... That happens ALL the time regardless of stack size....

Next thing somebody will say they have software that determines how big your Penis is depending on how you play,...and let the guy with the biggest Penis win... Big Smile
