It's just not good poker  0
Why do people on BRM Freeroll stack off with one card to come on straight and flush draws?? Really pisses me off!
I love it when they miss but even then it still annoys me, it's just not good poker. Throw more than half your chips on 3 outs sometimes 7 at a maximum, with one card to come?

Can somebody tell me why?

Aww crap!

You have already answered the question yourself.
That is not a good play most of the times ! But some times you have to take a risk in poker.
It is a typical beginner mistake when they don`t know much outs and probabilities.

lots of people stack off because they dont realise the real odds of hitting their money card. they get over excited about their hand and they stick their chips in getting about 6/4 when the real odds are around 4/1. they should take an extra few seconds and think about the odds. it is ALWAYS about the mathematics

And i ask me why these People hit so often the Joker Card at the river... But the manicas at the freerolls Play sometimes every Hand without any Motivation sucks out sometimes and loose all Chips some Hands later.

You guys are thinking way too far... The reason is simple: it's a freeroll and they don't care about losing. Put a 500$ buy-in on the same tournament and you will see they will play their draws differently Big Smile

Don't expect real poker in online freerolls, it's just not gonna happen.

My 'Standard' answer to THAT question is: ....because they have $H!T for brains...

...BUT,....most of the folks who play them, and are ALSO hooked up on the leaderboard, play a very good game. Even still though,.......some of them too play like them facebook freerollin' cockroaches with multiple accounts...

I guess some folks just have no respect for things that don't belong to them.... Confused

Of course this is bad poker and they only do this because they are on a freeroll.

As you can imagine yourself this type of play would be seriously minus EV on a paid tournament or even more on cash games...

Yet they keep on winning and sucking out even against bad odds and -EV with some of the worst hands imaginable. I see this play in low buy MTT's as well.

Yeah it can pissis me off to. Espescially when you lose the hand, while the other player was fishing and hit his 1-5 outer. But remember that the next time a fisher wont hit his outs and youll get his cash Blink Wish you good luck man!

Phisix is right, you can also see this type of play on low buy in tournaments or tournaments on which the buy in is in poker points, not real cash...

I bet that you also noticed that these type of players right from beginning go all in no matter what hand they have in order to double or triple up.

Its not bad poker for the people who are winning with their unauthodox play! Just cos one doesnt stick to etiquette doesnt mean it is necessarily bad play. Its only bad play if you lose. Technically its not a million miles from bluffing! which siome would say is an art and is no doubt how most top players have won their status!

yeah but a bluff has to be in the right spot, not calling an all in with nothing and donking trips runner runner or flush runner. Not bad play! come on dude, you can't bluff when your the one calling an all in. Aww crap!

yeah 'tis true.

On the bluff part if you call a marginal hand and they bink a card fair enough, you could of put them on a better hand and folded, thus keeping chips. all out donking though just winds me up lol

peace and love all

good luck

When you do hit your hand, make sure not to overplay it. If you have A-K and hit your king on the flop, but the flop is K-Q-J be careful. All to often I see people go all-in on a flop like this with top pair, top kicker. Their is a straight draw, and with 3 face cards on the flop it is very likely that a two pair is out their because a lot of people like to play things like K-J, Q-J, K-Q, A-Q, A-J, and such. The point is, this flop has a lot of room to give a lot of people better hands than your top pair. And in this situation, hitting two pair for you would mean anyone with a 10 has a straight. So, your hand is best at one pair, and this is not something you want to be playing really hard on a flop like this. Keep this in your mind!!
