NOT as rigged as you think  +1
Hey mobsters, I just came back from a live poker event and had a short stack shove all in before me and I woke up with AA I push over the top and everyone else folds, he turns over A10 offsuit. Perfect. Have him crushed. Flop comes down QJ6 rainbow, flush is out of the question the turn was a deuce and the river was a king, and there you have it, R.I.P pocket aces. Just goes to show that these things do happen live, I play live poker most days of the week and I can honestly say my aces have held less then they've won it would be 50/50 at the very best, I know we all love to whine and moan and bitch about how rigged online poker is, myself included LOL but cards can be very very VERY cruel.

G'day mate

You are absolutely right. A pair of aces preflop are the nuts but after the flop they are just a pair and most people have a hard time remembering just how easy it is to have a single pair beat.
Remember a single pair is on the low end of the poker hand higharchy.
WE all sometimes get tunnel vision when looking down at them pocket rockets, but sometimes we must fold them in order to save our money or chips.
Best of luck to you

Oy.....never thought they were rigged mate...! Seeing those aces come on the flop sure gives you a rush and a big shot of confidence,...but that's what makes it all the more painfull when they get cracked... So I never put TOO much stock in my aces, but they certainly are a MUCH better pocket to get than a 92 off or other similar crap... Smile Thumbs Up

Folding them is nearly as bad as losing with them,...except you save a few chips... Dollar

Suckouts + Rake + losing coinflipps = online poker is - ev! You can play so good as you want, you have no chance against the rake and sucks. But it is a nice hobby and we all have the chance to win one time a big tourney!

Hmmyeah happens all the time, if it does not there wont be any fishes left as they will keep losing with their skills. Also live game boring in my opinion the actions is too slow and after you have played for one hour you will only have played a few hands.

Online better, more hands, more dollars, although online playing by yourself can be boring and live is better if you get to a good casino where there are good people swapping stories etc.

Anyway good luck next time, I like your tone, you are not whining about it. Smile

G'day mates

Well I must agree with hestor on this one.
It is nice to see a post where someone is not whining about being beat.
Like the song says...

Every hands a winner and every hands a loser.
You gotta know when to walk away and know when to run.

Well there isn't much point in whinging about it, it's done now.
I will however whinge about how some moron a few minutes ago called me with 9,3 clubs when I pushed with A9 (last to act, action folded to me he was in the BB, SB folds) wanted to steal the pot ideally but A9 can be very strong heads up so wasn't fussed either way (blinds where 30/60 I pushed for 450 and change he has a stack of about 600k and calls 3/4 of it with 9,3??, anyway I flop the A and have him totally dominated now and he gets a runner runner flush in the brm freeroll 2 people from the final table, he had to be a dirty Facebook free roller to have been calling that I have no doubt in my mind he isn't a BRM member Aww crap! Aww crap!

well dude that type of crap really sucks out load.
I always hate to see that kind of BS whenever I am at a table.
Players like that make it bad for the rest of us.
However I want him at my cash table because you know he is a losing player over all.
It is always good to have those ATM's at your table giving you their money when they do not suck out.
Hope you have better luck next time.

Of course that aces o any combination that seems to be very strong can fail if there is the smallest chance of that to happen.

I think people online noticed that the frequency so these type of hands/situations s much more often compared to live games.

Good post, finally someone says it how it is. Online poker is not rigged and if it is, it's because the site is corrupted and or hacked.

The basic thing that idiots forget, is that online you see such a vast amount of hands you'd never see if you only played live, and all the bad beats multiply and so forth.

I have doubted about a few rooms but mostly it's just plain bad luck. The pokerclients get paid with the rake and rebuys from players, they have to care who will win the money.

I see a lot of complaints about rigged sites daily but nice to see the opposite for a change Smile

I played live poker for many years before I ever played online.. Whenever I see people online complaining about how rigged online poker is and how "this wouldn't happen in Live poker" - I can only ever assume they've honestly not played very much live poker.. Oh - they always claim they have and how they crush live, but get cheated online.. But I'm guessing they're liars.. Cause why would somebody crushing live $2/$4 (or whatever) poker be playing like a retard in online freerolls complaining about how rigged it is and not even realising how bad they suck at poker.

lolwhat?

You're right about ONE thing only there - beating the rake is extremely difficult.. I honestly don't think many people realise just how difficult it is to have an edge that is big enough that you're actually making a profit after rake..

My sharkscope SNG graph is about $1000 in the red, if I show it with no rake, I'm in the black for about the same amount Smile

No idea what you mean about suckouts/coinflips though, sounds like you don't really know what you're talking about.

Suckouts indicate you mean losing after getting your chips in good (somebody wins after going allin with the much worse hand) - if you're often finding your self getting your chips in ahead, then that's a good thing, not a bad thing.. so no fucking idea what you mean by this.

RE:Coinflips - this is an even bigger headscratcher - a coinflip in poker means a roughly 50:50 chance, so long as you're playing within your bankroll and playing enough hands at a consistent stake level, then all the coinflips will just even out over a large enough sample.. seriously. Learn maths.

It is always great to wake up with pocket aces but at the end of the day it is still only one pair. The amount of times i've lost with pocket aces i keep wondering how to play them. I think the only way to play them is to over bet them preflop and if you get shoved on all the better because it takes away all the stress post flop on how to play them Big Smile

Here's a thread I wrote a couple years back, regarding beating the rake - worth a read IMHO. Especially if you think online poker is rigged.. read this and use those brains of yours to discover why you're losing all your money playing online poker..

The worst suckout I have ever suffered was in live poker not online, I flopped the nut flush and got shoved all in I snap call the flop was 10 A 3 of diamonds I had KJ diamonds so even have a redraw to a royal, anyway the opponent turns over A6 offsuit or something like that, this is about 3/4 people from final table with less than 2 tables left, the turn was a 3 and I begin to worry thinking all I have to do is fade an ace or a 3 and you guessed it the river was a 3 I get beat by a 1 card full house to bubble 1 spot outside of the money with the top 12 getting a share of the $2k prize pool, these things always happen live and I believe the majority of people who say they don't haven't ever played live besides a home game or two.
