Big Chips Stack Always Win??  0
I have noticed over the years of playing online that when you get deeper in the tournaments MTT,..(short chips stack with premium cards like AA, KK) , the big chips stack players almost always win when both players go all-in preflop especially on the river. Has anyone else noticed this?

Every solid poker player knows this aspect of poker: it's one of the basic rules you should know if you wanna play a proper poker. Blink Cool

Yes , ihave noticed this too , sometimes you need to be just CHIP LEADER and just dont remove the hand from call button.

Maybe simply because the software has to do this for the tournament to end quicker as if not we'll have tournaments online who'll take ages if you see which ones I'm taking about (deep stack 15 mins blinds structure) etc... so yes whatever you have as short stack, if you're all in preflop vs bigger stack player you're out for sure

You also need to consider that players that have big stacks also tend to play a lot more hands than players that have a minimum number of BB.

That being said they also gamble more and of course that it happens they also win more hands.

Hi Calmplay

I totally agree with you. This must be the reason that a tournament with 10K players only last 3.5 hours. It is not totally to do with 8K idiots playing the tournament.

If we all take this in mind we will gamble more, to gain big stacks. But then someone who you beat with 87s against AA will obviously call you a donk.........can't win !!!

Gl to you all................. Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

Sometimes it seems so. They cracked verry often with their big stack the premium Hands. Ok, in most cases this is +ev to set the deep stack under pressure. And the deep stack get verry often a suckout...

I dont think it always happens but i know what you are saying because it seems these big stacks always get lucky post flop. They just seem to run good but if you get your chips in good you will nearly always hold on. Just keep your fingers crossed next time Big Smile

Yea it happens some times. But its more than a few also that i have seen the bigger stacks
getting kicked out after getting persistent with one player to whom they lost their
first all in.
And when you are in the money ok, but they are bubbling or almost bubble too.
Its a good laugh when that happens.

G'day mate

You can bet your a$$ that every serious poker player has noticed the same thing.
It just seems like the big stack at any table is always sucking out win after win.
Even more so when they are a Russian idiot donk who needs to be shot & pissed on.
You all know what i'm saying.
best wishes mates
be cool

AA/KK does not guarantee that you will win a flip or even if you are ahead, as I have found out the hard way. I know what you mean though I have lost more flips against the big stacks then I have beat them, normally they beat me with lower rubbish too.

Bigstack players don't win more, it just seems that way for more then one reason.
Firstly they tend to call more small stack players because at that point in the game blinds will eat at them and they all-in more and more til they finally are gone.
Second they have (or at least should) have the game under control with more raises so small stacks only can call with premium hands.
And third, if you are small stack, poker clients seem to really hate you! Tongue

They're big stacks becoz they connect well with the board more often...it can be like the expression "being hit by the deck"...doesn't matter what the hand is, one hits most boards very consistently and wins. All the suited connectors. suited one gappers, small to medium pairs, hitting consistently. Don't want to leave the table when one is hitting and winning like that. It's being in the cycle and being in sync...as players, don't we all want to be there? May not happen often....sure is sweet when it does Smile

As long as they aren't one of those all-in every hand maniacs there will be reasons that they are the big stack.

a) They are a good player.
b) They are 'running hot'.
c) All of the above.

All players, at some time, go through a period where they hit the board hard a lot. The good players use their large stack to intimidate the smaller stacks and pick up a lot of blinds.

Twas always thus. "It's the rich wot gets the money. It's the poor wot gets the blame."

having a big stack near the late phase and final tables is clearly an advantage, it will allows you to dominate medium stack as you have the fold equity of making them bust out, whereas you can afford some all ins without going bust.

Basically, they can afford to play lesser equity hands and go for the flips more often than the short stack if they wish. Or they could just keep raising aggressively to pick up pots and making people wonder whether to put their tournament life on the line.

I agree with you that Big Chips Stack Always Win , but you know there is some percent that u can win. Today i got 99 and other guy goes all in with 22 and on the river i was out because of the magic river with the third 2. He has bigger Chip stack. Wish you luck guys!

I totally agree with you! I noticed that two years ago! You just need to be a chip leader, that is all, and then call. I had in the past a similar thread explaing this. Poker sites are interested to give other players' chips to the chips leaders, and others to be out of tourneys. It is the same with real money tables. All you need is to be a chip leader at the table. Then is easy.

One more thing! When you are sitting out in a tourney and you have 100 chips left for example, it's coming your way, automatically you pay (when sitting out) the big blind 100 and that way you are all in. In this situation you ALWAYS win the hand, when they took your last chips automatically. I am talking about PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.

Lately every time I am short stacked and have to push I always end up pushing with pockets. The last two times I have had 66 and both times I have been called by someone with KJ. My pocket pairs never seem to hold up to these chip leaders as they "always" hit the card they need.

Then again I have been chip leader in these situations and I have lost against people with worse hands or pocket rockets so who knows.
