Poker professional Eric Riley, 32, got a ride to the JetBlue terminal last Wednesday from a new-found friend named Junior, who he had met a few days earlier at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.
Once they arrived at Terminal 5, Riley got out of the car to collect his bag, which contained $100,000 in cash after a big win in Atlantic City, in the trunk. Unfortunately the greed got[...] Read more » Poker Pro Escapes Robbery - Twice in 1 Day!

Wow!!! Is this a true story or a plot from a film. Seriously though why would you befriend a stranger and have a lift with all that cash on him. A very lucky boy methinks.

Hmm looks unreal from the looks of it, but this shows that movies scenes might hold some truth. Fortunately the 3 crooks did not shoot him, I do not think they had the intention to harm him. If they wanted the money badly they might have done worse.
Anyway glad he Riley managed to keep a cool head and got his money back. In some cirmutances people might have given off for fear of losing their life. Kudos for being brave!
He'd just won it in atlantic city how would you deposit cash like that in a bank anyway would the bank not be suspicious where it came from? yes this is why I prefer online poker gambling to live unless its for small money then I'm good.

WOoooooooooooooooo i cant belive what I'm reading. Its like in the Hollywood movies ??? Riley acted quickly and got into a yellow cab, handed the driver four $100 bills and shouted, "Follow that car!" Eventually they caught up with Junior at a red light several blocks away. Cant belive!!! ))))))))

Haha ridiculous!!! Either those guys were working together or there was some real oppurtunism at play here. To get shafted twice in succession - that is something special.
The moral of the story? Don't play poker, and if you do don't carry bags of money around.

I wonder how often this type of thing happened back when things were a lot easier to get away with (gambling, hustling, racketeering, robbery, murder) I'm sure Doyle has whole slew of gems in the archives that would make us all shake our heads in amazement.
I kinda wish it were that way again. New york circa 1970's comes to mind, nice and dirty.

WOW......It sounds like Atlantic City is the place to be then! This sounds like a scene from GTA and I am sure there will be loads of people trying to relive or take advantage of this little scenario......
That story sounds hard to believe... But if it really happened, that guy is crazy and is lucky the guy's in the black car didn't just take the bag and throw him out of the car. (or if they had doors that can only be unlocked from the outside)

He got into the black car and told the alleged cops about the attempted robbery. However, the two men turned out not to be cops and suddenly he had a gun pointed at his chest.
Is this some kind of movie , or this is just a trailer ? ))))))))))))))
