Neteller follows Skrills example Canadians screwed again  0
G'day mates

So I log into my Neteller account o see if the mob points I cashed out have arrived there.
Only to have a message pop up to inform me that Neteller will no longer be processing funds to or from any online poker related sites for Canadian users.
So here in Canada our funding options to play online poker seem to be down to just 2 now.
We can either use our direct chequeing account through the banks or Ukash.
A friend just told me of new federal tax laws which states that any time a person does a cash out from an online poker site now that the poker site must sent a form to Canada Revenue and that Canadian players must declare all cashout amounts above $1000 CND as additional income.
Ukash is sold by the Canadian government through every Canada post outlet now.
It would seem the Canadian government has been quitely passing laws to get their cut of the online gambling community's money..

I think this is just total BS since they do not track deposits at all.
My point is this what if a person is a real bad losing player and deposits say $3000 in a year but manages to get one good win of $1500 in a tounament and cashes it out. The government what to charge them income tax on the money but really they did not make $1500 but lost $1500.
Canadian government does not care, you withdrew $more then $1000 so you pay 40% tax on those winnings, if I understand the new tax law correctly.

We are getting screwed!

Ronin Aww crap!

Really bad news. Thumbs Down

But we all know the show is over, when the governments start smelling the money in an activity. Then it will be taxed to death in no time. Evil

But i´m sure, the bmob support can help you and you can use a other way to withdraw your points into cash. But why can´t canadian player Play online poker? Another new law aginst poker fans?

The moment i read the title of your thread i knew i was right when i asked you, in the last one
you had about Moneybookers, if the laws changed. Smile
It seemed the only logic reason for such a company to do that move.
They want to make money not to lose.
Another country makes it hard for poker players.
I wonder which one is next on the list.

G'day mate

Well I understand the the laws in the United Kingdom will also be changing soon to make things harder for poker players as well.
Canada is the testing ground for the UK on this one.
Ticks me off to no end.

You should think about moving to Lithuania Ronin! at some place near to the sea.

Sad to hear that you have less option to deposit or withdraw. It is not good for any player all these goverments restriction.

What is your plan now to use your mob points?

Are u going to withdraw directly to a poker site??'

Gl man!

You can transfer your money to another player from other country and then he can withdraw from "poker" account and send to your e.wallet (bitcoin etc.).

G'day mates

Well right now I am just waiting to see what happens with the 10K in mob points which was just cashed out to my Neteller account.
No idea now if it is even going to arrive in the account or not.
It is a holiday season and if BRM does not transfer the funds in before Dec 31st 2013 then I think they will be simply denighed or worse just simply lost.
Even if BRM does do the cashout in the nick of time then I still might not be allowed to transfer the money into my poker account from Neteller.
However I will then be forced to request a Neteller Secured Mastercard which they will charge me $13 for and once it arrives in 4-6 weeks I will be able to use the card in an A|TM to withdraw the funds which remain in my Neteller account out as cash, This will of course require me to pay another fee to get my own money.
I then can take the money to purchase a Ukash ticket from Canada Post (paying another F'in fee) which I can then use to make a deposit onto a poker site.
All these fees will take a huge % out of my $100 bankroll, which I will be required to make up for out of my own funds, just to get the $100 starting bankroll which I gave my word to thefly131 we would have to start our dark horse run with.
I am a man of my word and we will have the $100 starting bankroll regardless of all the extra fees but the BS just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
best wishes to you all

Don't git yer knickers in a twist there too fast my friend from the land of the Purple Violet and Alpine beer...

...as far as I understand from the same email I got,....the ONLY change is that you can no longer cash out back to Canada.... BUT,....you can STILL use your Skrill acct. for any other transactions that you could in the past,....which I would imagine still include transactions with poker sites...

You can shift money around, but you just can't withdraw in any way back here...

I'm wondering just what's the sense of playing poker on line any further if you can't withdraw your winnings... Confused

I'll have to look into this secured card thing...

Spem reduxit (hope was restored) Big Smile sound familiar...?

G'day mate

Well I do hope you are correct in your statement about still being able to make a deposit via Neteller into my poker account. I think I will need to have my Neteller account validation increased farther in ordered ot get their secured Mastercard debit option.
best wishes mate
Happy New Year

I was totally unware of this situation in Canada, and this to me is just the first step to the road that the democratic country south to you did some time ago Thumbs Down Thumbs Down Thumbs Down

So basically now you can have acces to both skrill and neteller accounts but you can't do any transactions with gambling sites??

It really is bad news when this sort of things happen and it must leave a bad taste in your mouth. I dread the day when this happens in our country and i hope that day never comes. I am truly sorry to you for losing out on this

IMO sooner or later "online poker" will become illegal.
Players should find backdoors.
Fox exmpl:
Someone (playroom) can create a service which would receive payments from players.
Then player should seat at the playmoney table and after the game they will receive their money back (according to the game results)

None of it will be illegal

All countries will just find a way to let you play, but tax you on it

This is just revenue building for governments

That sucks. But you can always use virtual master card what neteller provide. Probably skrill too.

And you can withdraw to that card too.

I am using neteller virtual master card for shopping online.

Just use card on every poker you want. They can reject neteller or skrill but they will always accept cards where they are.

Just try it.

Good luck, I hope you sort it out
