yea but he didnt really 'earn' 19,549,209, there must be at least good few millions he used for buyins Big Smile

i know nobody in poker tracks how much people spend on buyins (it would make incomes and expenses much much uglier to look at lol) so not saying he didnt do a great job (for gods sake he won almost 20m ofc its a good job im superhappy when i win 40$ lol), but i wish they would start counting buyins/losses towards pro players figures Sleepy

G'day mates

It is truly impressive that Daniel Negreanu is still a very humble and positive player.
He is truly a great example of what a poker player should strive to be.
Yes he has won millions of dollars but he thinks of himself as just a lucky Canadian poker player who still has much to learn.
He try's very hard to make players time at his table enjoyable and give alot of his time and money to worthwhile causes.
He is one of the greats in poker.
be cool

Apple makes a very good point, these winnings are not net of expenses and as such some of these pro's could in fact be losing players. Obviously some of them are sponsored and probably have their buy-ins / expenses covered but I'd hazard a guess that some of the 'big' names in poker are losing players.

I have always thought that Daniel Negreanu was in the top 2 or 3 players in the world. This man's reading skills is astronomical, he always seems to know when to get his money in. He senses weakness and strength with an unerring consistency

Yeah he is one of my all time favourites in the poker world together with a few more faces like Antonio Cool

hmm this is new that ranking thing , i heard about it from last year near the end of Novemeber iirc, that is a good idea and demands lots of consistency, Daniel had a good season last year and he should be topping the ranking. But I think the second part of the season where he did not win much played against him!

A lot of poker pros are bankrupt, but not negreanu he is a serious and solid player. And i think this winnings are not includet privat bets? Big Smile He is one of the best poker pros at the live games, but is he also a winning player at online poker?

Even if he has spent a lot in the process of getting these winnings,
he has made for sure a net of half the money.
So for the specific period it is like 1 million $ per year.
They very least.
And all these of course from the figures that are available for the public.

At least a poker players winnings are public - no disgusing the prize pool and places finishing in the money.
But one hell of a career so far - and unlike sports, these guys keep going until a 20y/o escort/hooker puts their heart out of business.

Kid poker is one of the most liked guys also, or at least he projects that. That helps his image and because of that he will be making extra money on the side through Pokerstars, probably quite a significant amount + tourney entries.

I love watching Poker when Dan is playing, even more than Hellmuth. Doing very well for himself too so congrats Dan. Keep it up.

He made money online too and for sure in private high stakes cash games where we'll never know who plays it if you see what I mean and forget that he is earning lots in sponsors too so I'm sure he's earned more than 12 millions even if you minus the buy ins from his all time money winnings...

You never know, man. The buy-in expenses can be enormous for the players the kind of Negreanu. For example for the PCA Superhighroller this year he spent 300K (100K original buy-in + 2 reentries). And he didn't cash after all. So, this year Negreanu is stuck 300K already.

He claims that he didn't play a single hand in live cash games in 2013
