About poker future  +1
I think tablets and mobile phones will bring a lot more recreational players in - especially for cash games. Unfortunately, I also see more governments trying to segregate and tax poker which I don't see as healthy. Poker will last as long as there is money to be made by sites, and I think that will be a very long time.
One thing I would like the Poker Industry to do is verify player ages, deposit and withdrawal credentials before allowing any play to occur. I think it is a real black mark on the industry that they have no problem allowing someone to reload and go broke multiple times, but when that player tries to make a small withdrawal - that is when they decide they want to 'protect the integrity of the game'...

Exactly right, all verifications should be done before or on deposit. When the sites start asking for verification only on withdrawal it does seem like they are using legislation to avoid paying out.

This is one reason I will go through the trouble of verifying my self with room before I deposit,if they don't I don't bother approving I don't deposit or play, where that may be.

That is what confuses me about some poker sites. You can deposit as much as you want and for as long as you want instantly with no fuss but as soon as you want to make a withdrawal then bust your nuts and you need to bend over backwards to get verified.

That does not make much sense to me because if they are willing to take your money using your account without checks/I.D then you should be able to do the same with withdrawals.

very good point about the verifications: they absolutely should be done before ever letting anyone deposit a penny. now it seems even bin laden can deposit whatever amount he wants and lose it to some "random" dude, which is basically money laundering. also many problems arise when player makes the deposit, and when he actually needs to go through the verification process and cannot provide the necessary info? what happens to his money? it is not returned to him- isn't this a robbery in the middle of the day?
this deffo has to change.

thats one thing i really liked about betfred, as soon as i registered there and tried to deposit with my cc, they instantly blocked my account and asked me to verify its my credit card.

most other sites arent like betfred though, you could deposit 10 times without being asked for ID proof, but as soon as you try to cashout, they want to... protect you as a player... not sure how though. protect you from getting money, lol

Big Smile

edit: pochui, when i registered at betfred, they asked for ID proof and said if i cant do it they will return my deposit. But then again not sure some smaller and shady sites would do the same thing though, thats why i stick to more famous bookies Tongue

Your observations are correct but i do not see your vision on the future of the poker really, you just made some observations there...

I think the major problem right now is the govs that are on a frenzy to tax online poker and in some sites to ban it Thumbs Down

I think the future of poker is pretty bright with all the new technology about. There will be a lot of players playing on the go and this can be only a good thing as it would create a lot of buisness for these sites. I hope i'm right about this

Or the excisting players use the tablets and iphones in the future. I´m not sure, that a lot of new players use this things. But important was it to change the laws in some countrys to bring back a lot of players to the tables and start a new poker boom.
