The man who won $15m in 6 months playing Blackjack

Don Johnson is a living legend in the world of Blackjack. During a period of six months, the 50-year-old Pennsylvanian businessman and high roller won $15 million at Blackjack tables in Atlantic City's casinos ($6 million from the Tropicana, $5 million from the Borgata and $4 million from Caesar's). He doesn't cheat, count cards or steal. How did he do it? Check out the video below (The Playe[...]   Read more » The man who won $15m in 6 months playing Blackjack

i can start it and im using comodo dragon. and if comodo can start it, anything can. i have to switch back to chrome/mozilla for so many things, but was able to watch this video.

but thats probably because i like turtles and (i think?) turtles like me too, so it would only make sense for me to be able to watch this video.

Thanks, my comodo drag worked too (Im still thinking they really know how to build a user-friendly firewall, anything else - not so much), now I switched back to firefox and disabled ad-block and It seems that was the issue.

This is an insane amount of money to win. He must have been playing for huge stakes to win so much in just playing blackjack.I wonder how much he has lost over the years as well but nevertheless congratulations to him

Great, just great, it is always good to hear the people that rides variance like it is their bitch and get the most money out of it, in the long run the house have the edge but he managed to get so lucky for 6 months and congratulations to him for achieving this feat. Great read!

I just watched the whole documentary. It is very interesting.

I watched the first 10 minutes, will watch the rest later, interesting story.
It seems he has found some type of variance calculation whereby if he places certain bets at certain times he will always be a long term winner. And like he said, nailing the big bets is crucial, I've had that happen so often, the small bet wins and then the larger stake hand loses consistently.

And those compos! Wow, i didnt realise they handed that much out to these guys just to get them there.
Same sort of thing Ivey does, flies location to location on his own jet, rolls up and gambles. He's made some mahoosive wins at bacarrat, craps

With the cashback deal he had secured he will be a long time winner. The math gurus have figured out, that he plays with roughly 1% advantage, when max bet allowed is $50.000 and a roughly 2%, when max bet is $100.000. The casinos didn't do their math properly.

well if you watched video carefully at one point it was said that with even the extra perks, negotiated better rules and 20% cashback on losses house still had a slight edge. and then he adds that he overturned this edge by beating the dealer Confused whenever dealer makes a mistake- he gets a free bet (i presume based on the amount he bets on the hand, although he mentioned $100K, so maybe this was a fixed amount)- so to sum up everything: he still plays a -ev game hoping to become a longterm winner collecting cash from dealers mistakes...yeah right he won $6 mil in one night, so did dealers make do many mistakes or what?
i assume this is just another of those brainwashes to lure people to Vegas and play on high limits

On the provided link it did not open but i google it and found another link that worked for me.

I did not watched it full yet but it's pretty interesting. Still an average player could not get the terms that he managed to secure by being an high roller.

Casinos are not in the business of losing money, so either he is extremely lucky and is just beating them for now (with variance about to kick him in the teeth), or it is a fabricated story to encourage gambling. In any event, for each guy who actually has a lucky streak and makes some serious coin, how many more lose their shirts?
