The US congress is a joke now anyway, but It looks like to me that they always have time for these kinda shenanigens.

Finally after several years the US players will get their pay day. Most of them I think gave up on recovering any money and with this it could bring a welcome addition for their start of the year.

It must be a nice surprise for these players to get their money back because i bet they thought they had lost it all.I hope that they get 100% of their money back and not just a fraction as sometimes happens

In some sense they lost it all, because its almost three years since they shut down FT and it sure looks like not the claim administrator nor the US DOJ wanted to necessary speed up this process. Ray Bitar pleaded gulity last april, now almost a year later and the freed up assets is still just a portion of all that was seized.

We talk about da country who bombing from robot airplanes foreign "terrorists" - in some cases for crimes they didnt even commit yet - they can do whatever the f**k they want... And thats why they sitting on the money so long. I think none of the prosecution came through against the DOJ from people whos money stuck in there - they basically couldnt be forced to release the money by law and IMO thats why they freeing up just a small percentage.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. A year or so ago I heard that some players were "selling" the money they had on Full Tilt for a fraction of its real value, thinking that they would never see it again. I wonder how well these agreements are going to be honoured. Anyways, I think it is another step in the right direction for online poker.

Well that's very good news for some people, but no doubt some people are still getting shafted. If people sold their accounts then that is downright stupid as the DOJ was always going to do something positive I think, they just took an age doing it, it's a complicated process. I'm not sure people would be able to get their dough back from the actual account anyway - why wouldn't the DOJ send the money direct to the person via cheque or something??

Nice. And the news doesn't contain any reference to a percentage payout, so it looks like the hole bankrolls of those players will be refunded soon. I must say, i never expected that to happen.
