Alex Rodriguez’s doping-ban arbitration hearing resumes Wednesday for three days of testimony during which Manfred, MLB’s chief operating officer, is expected to take the witness stand and outline the investigation that led baseball to suspend Rodriguez for 211 games.

Manfred, a member of the three-person panel hearing the appeal of the suspension along with Players Association lawyer David Prouty and arbitrator Fredric Horowitz, is expected to testify about what MLB knows about Florida’s now-shuttered Biogenesis clinic, the source of performance enhancing drugs for more than a dozen players. Rodriguez is the only player appealing his suspension.

Prouty may also testify during the arbitration; it is not unusual under the game’s collectively bargained drug agreement for the MLB and Players Association representatives to testify.

An attorney and a driving force behind MLB’s anti-doping program, Manfred is expected to outline how MLB decided on such an unprecedented number of games for A-Rod’s ban, and what evidence the league gathered to prove that Rodriguez interfered with the investigation by seeking to buy a trove of Biogenesis documents that the league itself later bought and by possibly compensating witnesses.

Manfred will vote to uphold the suspension, which was handed down by commissioner Bud Selig, while Prouty, as the union rep, is expected to side with the player. Horowitz, the arbitrator, will cast the deciding vote on A-Rod’s punishment.

I testify that....

The FIFA World Cup, often simply the World Cup, is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the sport's global governing body. The championship has been awarded every four years since the inaugural tournament in 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not held because of the Second World War. The current champions are Spain, who won the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel plans to shrink the United States Army to its smallest force since before the World War II buildup and eliminate an entire class of Air Force attack jets in a new spending proposal that officials describe as the first Pentagon budget to aggressively push the military off the war footing adopted after the terror attacks of 2001.

The proposal, described by several Pentagon officials on the condition of anonymity in advance of its release on Monday, takes into account the fiscal reality of government austerity and the political reality of a president who pledged to end two costly and exhausting land wars. A result, the officials argue, will be a military capable of defeating any adversary, but too small for protracted foreign occupations.

The officials acknowledge that budget cuts will impose greater risk on the armed forces if they are again ordered to carry out two large-scale military actions at the same time: Success would take longer, they say, and there would be a larger number of casualties. Officials also say that a smaller military could invite adventurism by adversaries.

“You have to always keep your institution prepared, but you can’t carry a large land-war Defense Department when there is no large land war,” a senior Pentagon official said.

Outlines of some of the budget initiatives, which are subject to congressional approval, have surfaced, an indication that even in advance of its release the budget is certain to come under political attack.

For example, some members of Congress, given advance notice of plans to retire air wings, have vowed legislative action to block the move, and the National Guard Association, an advocacy group for those part-time military personnel, is circulating talking points urging Congress to reject anticipated cuts. State governors are certain to weigh in, as well. And defense-industry officials and members of Congress in those port communities can be expected to oppose any initiatives to slow Navy shipbuilding.

UGH!

The movie ran through me
The glamour subdue me
The tabloid untie me
I'm empty please fill me
Mister anchor assure me
That Baghdad is burning
Your voice it is so soothing
That cunning mantra of killing
I need you my witness
To dress this up so bloodless
To numb me and purge me now
Of thoughts of blaming you
Yes the car is our wheelchair
My witness your coughing
Oily silence mocks the legless
Ones who travel now in coffins
On the corner
The jury's sleepless
We found your weakness
And it's right outside our door
Now testify

2nd part

With precision you feed me
My witness I'm hungry
Your temple it calms me
So I can carry on
My slaving sweating the skin right off my bones
On a bed of fire I'm choking on the smoke that fills my home
The wrecking ball rushing
Witness your blushing
The pipeline is gushing
While here we lie in tombs
While on the corner
The jury's sleepless

And it's right outside your door

i testify that:

1. money can't buy you happiness, but it's more comfortable to cry in a Mercedes than on your bicycle.
2. forgive your enemy, but remember the bastard's name.
3. help someone when they are in trouble and they will remember you when they are in trouble again.
4. many people are alive only because it's illegal to shoot them.
5. alcohol doesn't solve problems, but neither does milk...

Betty and Barney Hill were an American couple who claimed to have been abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of New Hampshire on September 19–20, 1961.

I also testify (as in, iTestify)

The Hills lived in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Barney (1922–1969) was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, while Betty (1919–2004) was a social worker. Active in a Unitarian congregation, the Hills were also members of the NAACP and community leaders, and Barney sat on a local board of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Tuesday that the salary cap is expected to climb north of the $130 million figure bandied about last week and well above the previously projected $126.3 million for 2014, according to union sources.

Final details are still being hammered out, but this year's salary cap is expected to surpass $131 million.

We think immediately of Carolina general manager Dave Gettleman, who repeatedly at the combine called the Panthers a "cap-strapped" club with minimal wiggle room to re-sign its own players, much less anyone else's.

"We don't have a choice," Gettleman said, bemoaning the cap's slow growth. "What hasn't happened yet is the agents and the players don't understand that the money isn't there the way it used to be."

At least a little more of that money will be available to Gettleman and other financially challenged general managers in 2014.

I testify that probably the testify thread is the most testifying thread in the BRM,

I wonder whether testifying often will result in more thing beings testified by testifyers.
Also I testify that testiying is not as easy as before, and that I still like more the bullsh1t thread than testiying here, although when I tetsify on the Bullsh1t thread or I write bullsh1t in this testify thread I feel a much better testified person.

I would like to become the testifying act an olympic game, but I know it will not be easy because golf seems to be first.

Gl!

Honestly this topic is such a diluted mess since the last couple of weeks that I dont feel the urge to hold up any kind of standard by remaining on-topic at all.
I play by the rules elsewhere if I have the time but testimonial topics are a big pile of mess anyways so why wouldnt I have some fun with it?

In physics, string theory is a theoretical framework in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. In string theory, the different types of observed elementary particles arise from the different quantum states of these strings. In addition to the types of particles postulated by the standard model of particle physics, string theory naturally incorporates gravity, and is therefore a candidate for a theory of everything, a self-contained mathematical model that describes all fundamental forces and forms of matter. Aside from this hypothesized role in particle physics, string theory is now widely used as a theoretical tool in physics, and it has shed light on many aspects of quantum field theory and quantum gravity.

Theres only two or three of those kinda threads alive at all, so I dont know what youre referring to. If you are refer to "how to score mobpoints and whatnot" type of threads that somebody (with a bare minimum of reading comprehension) making on every f*cking day I agree with you, but...
The complete bull place and this thread is fairly harmless IMO and they have some sort of ironic touch whats made posting in these to a participaton in meta-commentary about the site itself. People having fun for the sake of fun.
But I would ban the goddamn 'pointleeching helpdesk' type of threads in no time.

By personal experience i testify that the following does not apply in BRM tourneys

By employing deception, a poker player hopes to induce their opponent(s) to act differently than they would if they could see their cards. David Sklansky has argued that winning at poker is often decided by how much one player can force another to change his/her style while successfully maintaining their own strategy.[2] Bluffing is a form of deception where players bet strongly on a weak hand to induce opponents to fold superior hands. Related is the semi-bluff, in which a player who does not have a strong hand, but has a chance to improve it to a strong hand in later rounds, bets strongly on the hand in the hopes of inducing other players with weaker "made" hands to fold. Slow-playing is deceptive play in poker that is roughly the opposite of bluffing: checking or betting weakly with a strong holding, attempting to induce other players with weaker hands to call or raise the bet instead of folding, to increase the payout.

Turtles are reptiles of the order Chelonii or Testudines characterised by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs and acting as a shield. Turtle may refer to the chelonian order as a whole (American English) or to fresh-water and sea-dwelling chelonians

The oldest tortoise ever recorded, and one of the oldest individual animals ever recorded, was Tu'i Malila, which was presented to the Tongan royal family by the British explorer Captain Cook shortly after its birth in 1777.

Tu'i Malila remained in the care of the Tongan royal family until its death by natural causes on May 19, 1965, at the age of 188.

The record for the longest-lived vertebrate is exceeded only by one other, a koi named Hanako whose death on July 17, 1977 ended a 226-year life span
