Facing a federal criminal investigation and a deadline that originally was tonight to tell all under oath to anti-doping authorities or lose his last chance at reducing his lifetime sporting ban, Lance Armstrong now may cooperate.

His apparent 11th-hour about-face, according to the U.S. Anti Doping Agency (USADA), suggests he might TESTIFY under oath and give full details to USADA of how he cheated for so long.

"We have been in communication with Mr. Armstrong and his representatives and we understand that he does want to be part of the solution and assist in the effort to clean up the sport of cycling," USADA CEO Travis T. Tygart said in a written statement this evening. "We have agreed to his request for an additional two weeks to work on details to hopefully allow for this to happen."

Neither Armstrong nor his attorney responded to emails seeking comment on the USADA announcement.

I testify that the night that has just about passed by has been the wildest and windiest night that in my nearly 50 long years of being on this earth (God! Am I really nearly 50?) that I can ever recall.... However, I can also testify that I am very fortunate not to be one of the many that are flooded by the Great Flood of 2014.

Janet Yellen, fresh from taking the helm of the Federal Reserve, made it clear on Tuesday when she arrived to testify before a House Financial Services Committee hearing on ''Monetary Policy and the State of the Economy that she would not make any abrupt changes to U.S. monetary policy, saying the central bank was on track to keep reducing its stimulus even though the labor market recovery was far from complete.

In her first public comments since becoming Fed chief earlier this month, Yellen had testy exchanges with some Republican lawmakers over Wall Street regulation and central bank independence. But she managed to keep financial markets calm by emphasizing continuity with the policy approach taken by her predecessor, Ben Bernanke.

Yellen said the central bank must keep its eye on the "unusually high" incidence of long-term unemployment and the "exceptionally high" proportion of Americans who can find only part-time work as it plots a tricky reversal of its very accommodative policy stance.

Testify is the seventh studio album and final album to feature original material by English singer Phil Collins, before retiring. The album debuted at No. 30 on the American Billboard 200 albums chart, which was also the album's peak position. It was also the second Collins studio album where no track peaked within the American top 40 singles chart. It was also his lowest charting album in the UK, becoming his only solo effort not to reach the Top 5. However, the album achieved success in some countries of Continental Europe.

Meat Loaf's album Couldn't Have Said It Better was originally to be titled "Testify", but was retitled in anticipation of Phil's release.

Despite the shortage of success the album achieved, his subsequent First Final Farewell Tour proved to be very popular.

Did u know that.....

"Testify" is a single by rap metal band Rage Against the Machine off their third studio album The Battle of Los Angeles???
The cover of the single was taken from the 1968 Olympics Black Power Salute. The song's lyrics notably make reference to George Orwell's novel 1984 through use of "The Party" slogan "Who controls the past (now), controls the future. Who controls the present (now), controls the past." The song is a playable track on Rock Band 2.

Thumbs Up

Target Corp's chief financial officer will testify before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on February 4 about a massive data breach in what is likely to be the first time the retailer publicly answers questions about the unprecedented attack.
The committee is chaired by Senator Patrick Leahy, a Vermont Democrat and author of one of the few data security bills under consideration.
John Mulligan, who is executive vice president as well as chief financial officer, oversees Target's financial portfolio, including finance and retail services, company spokeswoman Molly Snyder said in an email confirming his appearance before the panel.
Representatives of the Federal Trade Commission, the Secret Service and the Department of Justice are also slated to testify at the hearing, according to the committee's schedule.
Last week, Democratic lawmakers called for a congressional inquiry into the hacking of credit and debit card data of tens of millions of customers of the No. 3 U.S. retailer during the holiday shopping season.

UGH!

The movie ran through me
The glamour subdue me
The tabloid untie me
I'm empty please fill me
Mister anchor assure me
That Baghdad is burning
Your voice it is so soothing
That cunning mantra of killing
I need you my witness
To dress this up so bloodless
To numb me and purge me now
Of thoughts of blaming you
Yes the car is our wheelchair
My witness your coughing
Oily silence mocks the legless

On the corner
The jury's sleepless
We found your weakness
And it's right outside our door
Now testify

Prosecutors in the billion-dollar Appliance Traders Limited (ATL) Pension Fund fraud trial say calling ATL boss Gordon 'Butch' Stewart to give evidence would "unnecessarily prolong the case".

"We are anxious to close this case," Raymond Clough, one of the prosecuting attorneys, told The Gleaner yesterday after it was announced that Stewart would not take the witness stand.
Stewart, who is the main complainant in the case against three former executives, was initially listed among the 17 persons down to give evidence in the case.

Patrick Lynch, the former chairman of the ATL pension scheme, and Catherine Barber, the former general manager, along with Dr Jeffrey Pyne, the former managing director of Gorstew Limited - Stewart's holding company - are on trial for allocating $1.7 billion in interest and withdrawal surpluses to members' accounts without Gorstew's consent and allegedly using four forged letters to deceive Stewart that consent was obtained.

Lead prosecutor R.N.A. Henriques explained that the ATL chairman was being called to testify about a 2010 meeting where the four alleged forged letters were first presented by Barber.

However, he said ATL Chief Financial Officer David Davies and general counsel Dmitri Singh, who were both present at the meeting, have already given evidence of the details of the meeting.

"Why then should I call another witness to testify about the same things?" Henriques told The Gleaner shortly after the case resumed in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The announcement that Stewart would not be called to testify came after defence attorneys complained that they would not be able to cross-examine any other witness because of the uncertainty about whether the ATL boss would give evidence.

Officer to testify against ex-NFL player in wreck

Former Dallas Cowboys' Josh Brent stands in court as potential jurors are directed into Judge Robert Burns', rear, courtroom in Dallas. Brent’s trial is expected to start Monday on allegations that he was driving drunk and caused the death of his friend, college teammate and former Dallas practice squad player Jerry Brown in a December 2012 crash.

A jury listened to audio recordings of police interrogation of a Dallas Cowboys player after a car crash that killed a teammate.

Prosecutors played the recordings Tuesday in the second day of former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent’s intoxication manslaughter trial in Dallas. In the interview, Brent was heard asserting that his out-of-state driver’s license exempted him from Texas law.

Brent is accused of being driving drunk at the time of the December 2012 crash that killed Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown.

The trial judge has imposed a gag order on the attorneys in the trial.

Brent could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted of driving drunk and causing Brown’s death. Jurors can also convict him of manslaughter.

I TESTIFY, (that unless someone else is doing one at this very same moment in time and beats me to the post button) that this post is the 100th post in the 'I Testify' thread!

Do I win a prize? A prize would be nice....... But if there is no prize (and in reality I know there is no prize) the satisfaction of knowing I made the 100th testification is enough for me! I testify that too!
