Winning Idiots  0
Why is it players who play like idiots or chase small odds always luck out and win? I see this in MTT's and cash tables all the time and it make no sense. You could say it is down to variance and luck but how can they continue to play like idiots and win, whereas the people who should be winning keep losing. It's like they only pay attention to their own cards and draws and nothing else.

Isn't that just the most irritating? Especially if you know they're dumb and you call it right to get the upper hand and still loose. Then of course they think they're better than you right? I usually make some donk comment at that point comment them and try find them again later, they're usually willing to play bad consistently, lol.

Indeed. It usually happens when I am doing well and am up a BI or two then my hard work grinding is undone. Then again they must have lost so much if they keep playing that way.

Poker full of idiots is like a never ending re-run of the movie Groundhog Day...

One thing that really cracks me up about some of those people,...is like you say.... They think they are better than you,...but then you get the odd one that calls YOU a fish after THEY call your strong hand with JUNK and win...

Last I knew, a fish gets lured and tricked into biting... So if YOU shove and THEY CALL and win..... How th F is it that YOU are the fish...???

Idiots.... Confused

Is being an idiot a genetic thing,...or a learned behaviour....?

Either, either,... I guess ANYbody can breed.... Confused

You might think they are idiots. Perhaps they just study the RNG patterns and not pot odds/logic or cheat in some way(I swear the things I've seen people play, makes you wonder.)

well sometimes (not defending anyone, maybe myself a little) when I play and the way someone is playing the hand doesn't make any sense for me and the only logical reason should be a bluff.. Even I lose the hand and made the bad call (which should be a good call of course Blink ) inside me (sometimes, only sometimes on chat also) call him a fish.. And I am sorry for everyone that Ive called a fish (Im not, I meant every word)

It's like the fish calling the fisherman a fish when the fisherman has the fish on the line....

Cause they get really lucky. And when they win a couple of hands like that,
they think that this is the way to do it, so they keep playing like that, hand
after hand. Some are getting a clue at some point, others dont.

I think it's way to play online poker right since you cannot see your opponent's face's emotions and body language to guess what he might have in hand, a lot of players do play like this.

And about idiots players always winning with low odds etc... well you know on a long term period they are a losing player and you are the profitable winning playa if you keep playing ABC poker...

Calmplay is right, if you play daily you'll notice that many of those "idiots" don't last too much especially on bigger stakes.

This could only means that on long term they are losing players. If you have more players like that on your table especially on cash simply leave the table.

The thing is I dont pity players who are using a broad range for starting hands when im playing against them. The more hands they play the more leaks they show and doesnt matter if its cash game or a tourey - the patterns will eventually show up on both. Dont care about the RNG either, the swings will balances out through the whole process, so anybody who want to talk about rigged RNG based on a couple dozen doubtfull hands come back when you have a thousand times of that amount and you still blaming the RNG.
The one thing that really gets me is the position play, or eventually its absence. The amount of openlimp even on tournaments with decent buy-ins its really something - I might take this to the ever changing nature of this game, but Im pretty sure that people became reckless and plain stupid - and whenever its working for them (cathing their only out on the turn) they doesnt know they were lucky, they rather feel that this was a prize of their 'brave play' and initiative...
Its truly ridiculous how many of them try to clone some particular playing style of some well known player so after all I blame the goddamn televised poker tournaments and that every semi pro has wrote a fu*king book that became outdated on the day it came out of the printer but people still treat them if those contain some sort of pattern how to become a millionare.

Have to agree with Macubaas. When stakes go higher or buy ins for tournaments are one dollar and more this type of play tends to be eliminated. Of course, always there will be spots where a big stack will try to steal, with total rubbish, and eventually hit a big draw but this is the exception not the rule. But as , I suppose ,we are talking about bankrollmob freerolls(or not?) it is very frustrating to finally get yourself through the all-in festival of early stages and the suckout waits when field has dropped to 50 or less. Strongly believe that donks motivated by the “rule” suggesting big stack defeats the little one.

Many people forget that "poker" is a gamble.
If gamblers will not win from time to time, they will stop playing "poker".
You want it? I do not think so.
So do not be upset when they win. Remember: These players bring money into the game. Let them win $1, they'll lose $10 tomorrow .

Lol, yeah that's a pretty hilarious and accurate metaphor for it.

I love finding those cocky dumb player who believe they're the best and think they put you on tilt. They just give their money away. The most rewarding thing is busting one of those guys and having them rage quit while calling you a "lucky fish". Sweet music Smile

As much as I'd love to believe online poker is legit, sometimes I seriously doubt it.
Just the other day I was chip leader in a tournament, and within 2 rounds I went heads up against the 2nd chip leader. I swear on my life I played 2 hands against him in these two rounds, and both times I went all in on the turn, he called both times with an UNDERPAIR and hit his set on the river. Twice in a row. After a solid 3 hour grind holding 2nd place up until knocking me out, in turn taking 1st.
How does this happen? How does some1 play so solid for so long, then completely lose their minds, donk the f**k out and score back to back 2 outters on the river to take first place?
Has anyone ever seen this happen in live poker? I doubt it.
This is not the first time I've seen something similar to this, and I doubt any of you have lived without running into these unstoppable luck tyrants. So is it luck? Or are do they have an llegal advantage? Ill let you decide for yourself, but I know where I'd put my money.

I experienced it many times especially on PokerStars during micro SNG or micro MTT; and of course Freerolls.

So it happens quite often, but it also depends on the tournament structure, in turbo You must increase Your range in order to survive.

But have You ever noticed, that mostly that kind of players are from Russia and Ukraine ? No offence ; but it happens sooo often; on the other side it's very rare to play with maniac German or UK player; calling Your pre flop all in with 37o ;

I guess the shuffling pattern is so hard to predict, but it is possible to narrow down the range of further flop cards (I've heard that some players admitted that unofficial)

So play player because if they win once believed that always, but sometimes they make you play you to throw, and when you do not expect when they get lucky and their book. But after these players in this style of play is still to lose
Good luck at the tables
