Use the search button on the top right corner of the BRM page and you will
get info from past threads and posts in this matter.
Dont make another deposit until you get a grip to some info that will help
you Smile Good luck.

hi gysmo,

i know the feeling about loosing deposits and then tilting to overplay you're bankroll
i don't know if you have alot of experience in poker and do you play cash games or tournaments?

an average rule is to not buy in a tournament for more then 2% of you're bankroll
and a cashgame not over 5% of youre bankroll.

im doing myself a bankroll challenge atm (theirs a topic) and in the begining is impossible to start with these guidelines as i found out.

if you're not an experienced player you should also if you want to invest in you're skill to become a better player search for some nice tutorials.

good luck and hope to hear from you soon Smile

If you got a girlfriend ask her to come on to you when you're tilting. You blow off some steam and return to the tables. Flying solo . . . I think you know what to do.

Just search bankroll management and you'll find tons of good stuff. Its a common topic here and anywhere poker is discussed.

G'day mate

You are correct that bankroll management is an essential skill to have for poker players to develop.
You can never be a winning player until you get control of your bankroll.
I am currently doing a bankroll challenge right now and today had a very bad day. I lost $100 but because of bankroll management still have plenty to rebuild with once again.
best of luck too you
be cool

Bankroll management is always very important and you must try not to risk too big a percentage of it on any one table. Stick to playing a low percentage of your bankroll everytime and you will soon see it grow.Good luck to you on the tables

If you play cash games you need t have at least 25 buy ins for the limit you want to play, if you play SNG you better bump that to 30 and if you want to play mtt be sure to have over 50 buy ins.

Tell us more on what do you played so far and on what limit did you played?

That is actually quite a bad bankroll management.
25 buy ins for a cash game is reasonable, but if you are not a very solid winning player, you need more to feel more comfortable (so at least 40 buy-ins, but the more, the better).
30 buy ins for SNG´s is one the other side absolutely insufficient. Although you won´t be seing such a downswings that often if you are a winning player, again, you need some "cushion" not to be playing money-scared.(80+ buy ins )
And 50 buy ins for a MTT player is just insane, even really good MTT players experience 100 buy-in downswings, so I would recommend at least 200 buy-ins.

sounds fine to me.

for single table sits 30 buy ins is just fine

and hyper turbo sit n gos u would need around 300 buyins

30 buy ins for SNGs is NOT enough, unless you play HU non turbo SNGs you WILL go broke sometime using that rule.

As for the topic, if you play on pokerstars, just lick in the lobby Requests/Responsible Gaming/Restrict Table Limit and you can choose the maximum stake you are able to enter, so that you can't blow off your money at higher stakes when tilted.
The same is possible to do for SNGs/MTTs. You can always higher your chosen limit, however pokerstars support needs about 24 hours to do that - enough time to cool down.

It´s easy. If you are on tilt, go away from the table, from your PC... The game will be there tomorrow too Smile. It is not bankroll management, it´s just in your head

best thing to do is play at your limits do not climb at the stakes if you dont have 100xBB
play as much freerolls as you can. i remember ferguson did that challenge before with virtually $0 on his account and made thousands starting from scratch!

The buy ins i posted are just as a rough guide, of course that based on the player personal experience they can be different. By the book you need a min of 30 buy ins on cash, 50 on sng and 100 on mtt.

Even if BRM is crucial for any player i do think that for a player new to the game learning is also very important.
