Strategy sites.  0
Hey, fairly new to poker and despite being created on BRM since Aug'12 I've only been active for a couple weeks. Anyways, getting to the point: What are your favorite sites for poker strategy?
(Or is there something I'm missing on BRM?)
Also I was curious as to if anyone knows a site that helps explain Poker stats?
I just downloaded the poker tracker free trial and am not really sure what I'm looking at.

Before I get spammed. (If that happens on BRM.) I know how to Google. Just looking for any favorites from some more experienced players.

Thanks everybody, and good luck! Aww crap!

Usually for a good strategy site with good content, you have to pay a subscription fee or sign up at their partner rooms and generate a specific amount of rake (commision fee that the site takes when you play).
If you haven't expirienced good content about poker before then the money you pay for a subscription is absolutely worth it, otherwise you will just blow alot more money away in the long run than what you pay for a subscription.
I can't give you links to sites because it's against the forum rules, but if you google you will find a big load of sites.
I'd recommend you to think about what form of poker you want to specialize in.
Focus either on cashgames or tournaments, focusing on both would be very difficult, both games are just too different. Tournaments, especially sit and go's, is a very simple game. To make the first profits, I would recommend you to start with that form of poker, and if you wish to transition do that once you have built a bankroll.
Some sites focus primarily on one form of poker.
You will have to do some research about what training/coaching site is best for you personally, but definitely invest the money in content and to learn the game properly to become a profitable player, everything else will just cost you money Smile

EDIT: Usually such sites also explain the stats part you mentioned, and explain what stats you should take in your HUD and what to conclude from the numbers you see next to every name Blink

Wow, what an excellent response. Thank you BeMyATMplz!
So paid it is, I'm going to start looking around. Maybe when I get all my stat answers I'll post them here for other newbs as well.
Personally I've mostly stuck to free rolls so far, so I guess that tournament play would be my starting point.
Time to google, and exclude the word free. I suppose that may have been part of my issue.

Thanks again for the info. Man, I am loving this community! Aww crap!

Oh if you're that inexpirienced (which isn't bad at all!) then there is a site that should suit you very well.
I can't give you the exact name due to forum terms, but if you google "free pokerschool" it should be right at the top Blink
You don't have to pay a dollar there, you get learning content for free, in return you sign up on a site through their link, they even give you a small starting capital on that site, and you finance them by playing at their partner room. In return you get definitely good content that makes you a winning player at real money games if followed correctly. It really takes not much to win at poker, especially at microstakes,no superbrain or anything, it just takes a little commitment and willingness to learn, then everyone can achieve being a winner in poker once they find good content they can follow by Smile

Thank you. I'll check that out, pretty positive I found what you're talking about. Will check it out tonight.
Any other newbs reading this would do WELL to check it out as well! Also read through BRM's forums, Had I have known how much info and good people with quality advice were on here when I created my account I'd likely already be atleast breaking even by now... if not better.

Anyways, a million thanks BMAP! Take care and good luck(everyone)! Aww crap!

There are many great books out there that are essential (in my opinion) to anyone starting out in poker... or even those that have been playing for years that need to tighten up their game.

Supersystem by Doyle Brunson (among others) is the undoubted king... but there are MANY others too. Harrington on Hold'em is a brilliant read as well as being very helpful. Mike Caro has a good one, but I forget the name... Sklansky (sp?) also has a great one.

There is a lot of online content that will help you, but I've found through experience that anyone offering advice online, usually want something in return (referral codes etc).

I say read as much and as often as you can....

But of course, nothing beats actual experience.
