Isildur1. Genius or crazy?  0

Comment the video: Isildur1? Genius or crazy?

Comment on videos is a great strategy to learn collectively.

Here is the second video that caught my attention:

Up to 3,000 preflop with K2 and end all in for 231,000 chips on a table without AA3 projects.

How do you get that? Let Viktor "Isildur1" Blom in the WSOPE Main Event 2009 and find out.

Nota: Si alguien encuetra la misma partida con mas calidad de imagen. Envie el link del video. Desde ya Muchas Gracias

i think this was just after Blom was outed as Isildur1,if im right it was very early in the tournament and it had alot of people scratching their heads in wonder at how a guy with so much online profits could play so bad.
Makes you wonder how Hansen could lose so much to him.... Big Smile Big Smile Big Smile

He is neither.

He is just someone who knows all about image and how important it is... especially at the highest of levels.

Being known as someone willing to throw half a million dollars into a pot on a stone cold bluff is a MAJOR advantage to him... It makes him virtually impossible to read.

He will never be one of the true greats of poker... like Doyle Brunson, Stu Ungar, Phil Helmuth and so on, but he may well go on to make more money than all of them combined.

I read that a lot of poker pros are bankrupt in the past. And a player with so crazy ups and downs
like Isildur risk a lot. But i wish him luck, he is really a good player. But the winner is every time: Poker Stars...

Nope isuldur, blom is a genius, because he does not play with huds and though that he plays lots of tables, also he has been playing the nosebleeds stakes for years and winning each year and in the long term. this is a hard feat and only genius can do it. Also his mental game is huge, because he swings a lot from up and down but still manage to be in profit at the end of the day.

Will go to the hall of fame later, mark my words!

This video is one of my favorites. Had spotted just after Isildur1 begun his journey to the top of poker community. I think judging by the comments from journalists Victor was not that famous ,probably they couldn't even recognize him.I like his play. I have faced tis spot lot's of times :flop A A x(where x is low,6 even worst).Have A with low kicker and fiinally better Ace kicks me out. I do not know how others pros would play that but if that was cash game I would have fold, after such pressure.
Finally, I have one more comment. Who the f...... is the other player, who laughs hard?.......................Waiting..................

Yep no one knows him. But we now everyone knows Isildur1.

For me thats enough for answering:Genius

Wow what an isane hand.!!!!!!!
I have not seen it before.

I think Isildur is one of the best online poker players, and clearly he has a level of thinking quite different from a microplayer as me, so I find hard to analize this hand.

Don't know whether such aggressive move gave him good result in the past,
Anyway pretty good video.

Gl all!

you just don't know if he has the goods or not.

It is actually a good board do pull out such bluff, because anything except for full houses and strong aces can´t stand against such action.

He obviously cut his baby teeth playing PokerStars/BankrollMob freerolls... Confused

Possibly he had in mind a K high flush preflop...

I sort of agree with you85 and few here... but I wouldn't exactly call him a genius but maybe more of a lunatic with no respect for money.

You can certainly see the uneasiness in the eyes of the other players at the table...

Let's call him a 'maniacal genius'..., but CERTAINLY the Ultimate Bingo Queen... Agree

As soon as he saw that river he knew it was blown and left without so much as a good bye...

He just looked bad to me... Maybe 'idiot' is more appropriate... Thumbs Up

agree...skill level like a boss ! and he has the right attitude to make crazy plays like in the video.
he dont care about the money he wins and loos and he learns and adapts his play in a very short time
(i read that in a artikel written by phil galfond aka OMGClayAiken where he talks about his budy v.blom)
he plays at this high stakes and lots of tables st the same time whithout any tracking software or a hud...
this is really amazing in my opinion !! so for me he is one of the best online players

For starters this guy is fearless but he also comes from a rich family if my sources are right, and knowing you have a rich family to fall back on doesn't exactly scare anyone from making huge bets all the time.

That said, he is highly skilled and good at reading situations under the most amount of pressure. As a result his swings are wild as f**k, and if he went on a genuine downer I'm not sure he'd be able to make it back. But people want to stake regardless like with Illari Sahamies, so who knows I guess.

Many said that he made a mistake on this hand but frankly if you look at it it was clear that he wanted to bluff that guy.

I think he wanted to represent an Ax there, but an important x. That being said i think he guessed pretty good what that uk guy had in his hand.

Really Macubaas, how did you get that thought, that he was bluffing lol.
Isnt this almost a stereotype, like when you bluff and miss, you played the hand wrong,
but if you hit you have played it great Smile
